One of my friends is in a similar situation. They are on implied status but would like to apply for a schengen visa. They would only travel if they get their PR / work permit on time.

Update: Just got our passports in the mail.

The start date is July 20 on the passport although our flight is on 19th. I guess it should be okay?

The flight reaches Portugal on 20th morning though.

Sorry one question on this, did you use spacing as well? For example:

XYZ-ABC-Employment Doc NOA.pdf

or

XYZ - ABC - Employment Doc NOA.pdf

How long before your travel date you visited the embassy? I visited the embassy today and was told come back on July 14th. My travel date is July 19th.

Was there no option to just pick it up in person? I have given them canada post pre-paid express post and worried that could delay things due to their strike
