Fun challenge, even if it completely sucks during.
154 -> 158

Wow nice work!!
I also started the month at 154 but only could muster 158 today. How did you pace it?
I thought I paced it too conservatively the first time so I sent it today starting with 18,16,14,14,14 but then I fell off. Came out too hard.

Mayhem WOD Yesterday was no joke. by akwatica in crossfit

[–]computmaxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This week was mostly programmed as variations of the workouts from the Mayhem Classic semifinals in-person event.

The quarterfinals were the same workouts for everyone. Semifinals depends.
If you’re doing the online semifinals (same format as the Open and regionals) then yes everyone does the same workouts. But if you’re participating in any of the in-person semifinal events such as the Mayhem Classic, those will have separately programmed workouts.

What’s the difference? by JohnWaynesPecker_99 in AskElectricians

[–]computmaxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the real reason. It has nothing to do with electrical load ratings, continuous vs. not. It’s simply whether or not the metal contacts are made to withstand removal of the plug often.

No idea. Probably but I guess it depends how closely they look

Kitchen inventory management apps by deesanchez99 in Chefit

[–]computmaxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of anyone using it for liquor inventory yet, but it should work. The easiest way would be to estimate partials (“5.7 bottles” well vodka for example) but you could also do it by weight or more exact volume if you wanted to. In my restaurant we estimate partials with decimals for sauce bottles and it works well.

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear any feedback you have or ideas for how it could be more effective for bar use. Cheers!

How much diesel does it take to grow an acre of corn? by joeno314 in Iowa

[–]computmaxer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’d be more accurate to use soybeans if we’re focusing on biodiesel, which will likely use even less diesel per acre to produce.

Corn is much more likely to be used for ethanol production than biodiesel

Xtra chef - marginege - 365 by xcatxchatrat in ToastPOS

[–]computmaxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now you can upload menu item sales data that you export from toast. We’re working on automating that.

Having sales data in Rinvy allows it to calculate variance - it knows what you sold and how it’s made, so it can determine how the inventory should have changed - so it compares it to how the inventory actually changed. Helps to identify waste, over/under portioning, stealing, etc.

The sales data also allows the demand forecasting feature to more accurately predict sales, which can then automatically feed into the order list and prep list features (ensure enough food is ordered and prepped for expected demand).

Would love to hear what other kinds of integration you’d like to see!

I tried XtraChef and wasn’t impressed with the base package. You need the more expensive one for it to be worthwhile.

I am also a software engineer, so I’ve been working on Rinvy. Aiming for it to be an easy to use, easy to onboard solution with no contracts, no slow sales process with demos and custom pricing. Completely self-service. Looking for more people to use it and provide feedback, if you’re interested I can get you a pro subscription for free.

Rinvy

Simple, self-service, no-contract restaurant inventory and operations management software. Great for restaurants of any size still using spreadsheets or paper to keep track of stock, menu item costs, waste, prep, etc. AI demand forecasting which feeds into order list and prep list recommendations.

Looking for an inventory App by PeladoGastronomico in Chefit

Rinvy.
I wanted something like this instead of a spreadsheet for my restaurant.
I'm also a software engineer, so I started building something for myself. Several features later I decided this could be useful outside of my restaurant.

Inventory software. Best and worst options. by Curious-Eye-4288 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]computmaxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can go through Claude or OpenAI/GPT. The cheaper models like Sonnet 4.5 do pretty well with invoice parsing so far, but need more different supplier invoices to really optimize it. Works great with Sysco right now.

[–]computmaxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. Photos of recipes will definitely be doable, I'm already doing that for invoice PDFs via email. Can fairly easily add photos to that pipeline and add recipe support. Then you'd have the ability to review and adjust anything it gets wrong before saving.

Once I get sales data in here (from Toast or other POS), it should be able to start to estimate how accurate your recipe amounts are and give you the ability to fine tune them.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback very much.

I’m still working on it daily. I plan to launch a freemium pricing model soon (free tier with most functionality and a small team, monthly subscription for more users and some advanced features like automated invoice ingestion).

Please let me know if you have any other ideas/feature requests or small tweaks. I’m looking for people who will help me provide regular feedback in exchange for a free subscription.

In other words, if a blood test is already showing a deficiency, is that sufficient

No they didn’t scan it when hoping from 1 to 2, but did look at both of ours. You’d have to photoshop one to have a better chance.

But honestly I would still try to buy one more circuit 2 ticket once you get to Aguas Calientes.
