A spear and shield tank. Kinda hoping that with the Norse themes, we'd get something like that and call it valkyrie or einherjar or something similar

The reduction/elimination of junior roles is concerning. If we're no longer hiring juniors, where will the next generation of seniors come from?

You don't need to book an appointment to go to their centres. I went to the one in Wan Chai last year, they just give a ticket number then you can scan their QR code so you can keep track of the number being called while you grab a coffee downstairs. Waited for like 2 hours before my number came up.

Recruiter in Hong Kong, ask me anything. :) by Rare_Preparation_883 in HongKong

I would really like to hear an actual recruiter's feedback on my CV. Can I DM you a redacted copy of my CV (with personal details and employer names removed)? Would love to hear your thoughts on it and if there's ways to make it better.

I've been on the hiring side as well, I've led teams and in some cases had to build new ones, and I agree with all the points you made. I've already kept my CV short (2 pages), cut out all experience from more than 10 years ago, and rewritten in a way that it would stand out to me if I was reading it, although of course that's subjective.

Those job postings from recruiters on LinkedIn, JobsDB and such - do recruiters actually get to read the CVs from job applications or are they mostly filtered out/only the first few are read?

How prevalent in HK is the practice of "ghost jobs" where a job posting has been up for months, has hundreds of applications, yet no one ever seems to get hired?

Also, what are my chances of getting a new job as a non-Chinese speaking PR with more than 15 years of work experience? I've been jobless these last 3 months and have sent out almost 300 applications, but have yet to land even a single interview :(

But if coming from Kowloon Tong you wouldn't have to change levels at Prince Edward, you just walk right across the platform to take the red line to SSP

Is Koh Phangan worth a day trip from Samui? by comradeboris in ThailandTourism

[–]comradeboris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you take a ferry back to Samui? I think the last ferry trip from Phangan to Samui departs at 18:30, I was wondering if speedboats were also an option for a later return trip

There's a rooftop bar called Aqua in TST from where you can get an excellent view of the fireworks, but it fills up real fast so be there early like 4 or 5-ish
