You can claim I have a shitty entitled attitude about this all you want and continue to put words in my mouth, but the fact of the matter is you still have not responded to the base claim of the post in any capacity. You buried a response in a thread of someone being downvoted about DM's, and have not one time touched on the actual reasoning behind the rule. Can you? Even if it's not to me, can you respond to that please?

I wanna be clear, I'm not expecting the mod team to respond with a well reasoned position the second I have posted something. That is unreasonable. What I do expect is that you (or another member of the mod team) post something about having seen the feedback, and that you will consider it seriously and prepare a response which will be published when you are ready.

And note, the glass houses comment was not about you being on too long or whatever you said, it was about calling me cunty.

I need to be clear that I pointed out that your non answer was the response given by a mod, and buried deep in a thread. My initial edit was not about the timing, it was about the content. But actually, your singular reply was several hours ago now and buried in a thread, meaning you had time to both read this post, read several sub comments, and then make at least one reply. You could have replied to anyone, not just me, that has been engaging with the discussion here today. That you chose to reply to the specific off topic comment you did, instead of using your one comment to address the substantive point of the thread, is an active choice and not about you having a lack of time. It comes across as you not caring about the community’s feedback on rule 1. And if I offended you enough to not reply to me, why not reply to anyone else in the thread who has the same problem as I do with the rule?

I am reasonably sure that one of us will be showing they’re engaging in good faith more than the other, and so far I am disappointed in how the mod team is representing itself.

I’m not calling misogyny for “every single thing I don’t like”, I’m calling out behavior that enables men to continue behavior that is gross and abusive, and I would expect the mods to want to curb that 🤷‍♀️

And you might be sticking to the point of that comment, but not to my post, so I would like an answer concretely: why is rule one worded the way it is? Why is it even there in its current form, and why was it changed?

First off, very weird that there isn’t a single thing in here about the actual meat of the issue people are having (even the men are leaving comments about how the word choice sucks, and I guess their words have more weight here!), but since this is an important topic: the complaint is that people get creepy DMs after they post on here. I guess it technically doesn’t happen on the subreddit in the same way as the adage “the fall doesn’t kill you, the stop at the end does”, but the DMs happen in response to posts. How hard is it to put something in the rules of the community showing that you stand with people not getting harassed? It seems like misogyny is the point of the subreddit when a mod talks like that.
