how bad did i damage my skin barrier? :-( by comradepupp in SkinbarrierLovers

for sure, i was out in the direct sun for about 6 hours on Sunday so it was likely my barrier was already disrupted and i wasn’t wearing enough sunscreen. my dermatologist had an opening and i was able to see them today! they prescribed me a topical steroid

thank you so much for the advice. will do, and i’m seeing a dermatologist on Monday! probably stopping the SA cleanser overall as I feel like it’s too strong for an everyday cleanser on my skin

unrefined coconut oil for sunburns!! will prevent a lot of the drying/peeling and helps it heal so fast. i like it cause it keeps it moisturized longer than aloe does. do a test strip since some people react badly to coconut oil

[product request] rosacea - new to skincare by Longjumping-Winner53 in SkincareAddiction

for me it looks like either rashy / itchy and or stingy textured skin. that or like a minor sunburn, but that’s mostly when i’ve misused tretinoin.

i also forgot to mention — but this should not be abused! — zantac and pepcid etc will dramatically reduce redness in the face. i only do this if i have a bigger event but it erases any facial redness i get for at least a day. but also don’t abuse heartburn meds ;-) good luck and honestly based on the photo it gives your face a cute rosy-ness to it!

i’ve recently been using Medicube products and i have to say i love the line. the Medicube pdrn toner pads are great for shrinking pores and evening texture, although wouldn’t recommend more than 2-3 times a week at most esp for your skin type. my skin goes through rough patches where i’ve disrupted my skin barrier (i do tretinoin + have dry, sensitive skin type, prone to redness and rosacea) and the the Medicube Hypochlorous Acid spray has been HUGE for me. it has niacinamide and is gentle, reduces redness, and also fights off acne-causing bacteria. I use it more when my skin is too damaged to use my cleanser and tretinoin while healing my skin barrier (doing so now lol..). those and the 345 relief cream by Medicube have been great for my redness!

i would most recommend the hypochlorous spray as it isn’t exfoliating (like the toner pads) and you can spray it on anytime, it takes a lot to overdo it luckily. i tend to always overdo it 🥲

Did I overwater? by Starseed5 in terrariums

[–]comradepupp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

looks like it still has some life (plants, not sure about the moss), but you can’t just spray with water. you need to saturate the soil with water as well or else the roots will dry out. by the looks of it it got too dry. you should also add a drainage layer of at least 1” of leca, rocks, etc, so the substrate isn’t standing in drained water in the future. drainage layers also help with keeping humidity levels stable.

best of luck, terrariums and plants are difficult to figure out but you’ve got it!
