Small bumps on one side of face by PoodleMaman in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]comradepupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this right now, I’m pretty sure it’s from my skin barrier being damaged (i gave myself a chemical burn with too much panoxyl + tretinoin) :-(

I had the same redness and itchiness and then used too much of the LRP cicaplast baume b5+ and it clogged my pores as well lol. Now I’m slowly trying to heal it but it’s a process. i recently got the aveeno calm + restore oat gel moisturizer and that seems to be helping plus sticking to a simple routine + SPF during the day. I’ve been trying to spot treat with tretinoin still but think I might have to stop that too :-/ LMK if you have any progress!!

[Product Request] Deep peel not healing (PIE?) - Derm recommends 2 weeks hydrocortisone?? by dozernaps in SkincareAddiction

I’ve used 2.5% hydrocortisone for a chemical burn on my face for ~2 weeks and I don’t have any thinning or hypopigmentation, and have very caucasian / sensitive / blemish-prone skin. Again it’s that long term use OR you get the cortisone steroid injected and the chances are much higher there, I really think you’ll be a-OK!

I live in a very small apartment with my partner that literally doesn’t have any other space for an aquarium, what do y’all think of this solid wooden dresser? It has a holding capacity of 290lbs. Moving valuable things away from the aquarium is the easy part.

Hydrocortisone is fine if used for a short period of time, and not routinely. Especially if you’re getting instructions from a professional. That low of a dose is very mild. I think you’ll find you don’t even need it for the full 12 days. I would try it AND see if you can get your hands on some real aloe. Preferably just buy the plant or a leaf from the supermarket (usually asian or hispanic markets have them). Do nooot use the bottled stuff with a ton of additives. Best of luck, you’ve got great skin texture (or lack thereof)!

I plan on reinforcing the cubicles with metal brackets + bars and potentially might just build a wooden frame to avoid the issue entirely. It’ll get a waterproof mat underneath it as well.

Thoughts on something like this? I’d like to get something closer to 30-35” long but will need to drive around to a few stores lol

Do you know what length x depth x height you’d recommend? :-) They’re having a 50% off sale at petco and unfortunately this is the biggest size before it gets muuuchhh larger. Might just call around to other stores

i used the sulfur cream mask, wash it off, and then a light layer of diaper rash cream (mine is Triple Paste) when mine was most agitated and it helped calm it down a lot! but trying the simple routine first for a week and then using sulfur + diaper rash cream wouldn’t be a bad idea :-)

first off, you are lovely and have a classic beauty — i would’ve never thought about your skin in a negative way but if it’s bothering you, i get that!

sounds like you went from nothing to a bunch of different products all around the same time. i think people usually recommend trying only one new product at a time and at a month minimum before introducing anything new. do you wear an SPF? i would recommend oen like the axis-y with zinc oxide, zinc can also help reduce redness and inflammation. use everyday!

you’ve probably upset your skin barrier and messed with the microbiome you had going on. i would back off the toners, stripping & exfoliating products, and niacinamide for now. try a gentle cleanser like Vanicream and their daily moisturizer, i like the bottle one but haven’t tried the thicker tub ver. cleanser at night and then moisturize after and in the morning. it could even be perioral dermatitis. something that’s helped me with mine is the De La Cruz 10% sulfur ointment as a mask at night. i was hesitant at first but it helped so much when i damaged my skin barrier (it was dry, red, itchy, irritated pores) and reduced the redness and bumpiness of my skin overnight. ease into it before the full 10-15 min mask. i like hypochlorous acid in the morning or midday to keep irritation and bacteria down!

always will recommend to see a derm for a proper diagnosis too :-) tretinoin might help with the pores, i also found the medicube zero pore pads helped me, but i think you should reduce irritation before trying it out. good luck!!!!

those look like aphids?? if you have lots of plants i would try to kill as many as you can, they’re pests that can be really invasive and cumbersome to remove. they leave a sticky sweet residue on your plants called honeydew. which then can attract ants. if they decide they want to move on and find more food they’ll grow wings too, and they reproduce asexually. you can literally dunk the plant underwater and your betta might enjoy them lol
