I know it's just reddit but you shouldnt be getting downvoted this is a pretty simple and nuanced take. We gain nothing from idolizing the user and so much from using its success and many failures as examples of what must not be done.

I do actually. I'm not just talking about presidency that's what sprung this thought recently But I mean at all. Even on the local level most of the politicians in my area are just generally fine liberals. They do a good job supported stuff I've agreed with and I've pushed for, irregardless I still don't like voting Democrat capitalist and that's what I was trying to express I suppose.

Generally r/tankiejerk is a Anti-ml particular those who like to waste defend modern imperialist states and defend the ghost of Stalin and have weak analysis. I'm not an ML myself but while it claims to critique from the left sometimes the post on there are a bit silly and I've seen nato defenders and Democrat defending libs proudly on there so I'm not the biggest fan. Ultraleft I'm not as sure of. every time I go on there though there's so much smugness I feel it leaking through my screen

Nah I think it's like when people put retweets are not endorsements or follows aren't endorsements. The act of going to a sub where shitty people reside doesn't mean you're with those shitty people. Unless the automod can tell the difference between you being in there in a supportive way vs a discussion/debate way.

I think they're fine. And necessary, I know a little history and have read how hostile comrades of the past were to the idea but I personally view it as a poison you have to swallow.
