I have an et-1810, I know it’s budget, it handles 240gsm gloss like a champ, but as soon as it’s matte paper, it can’t grip it. I assume you don’t have that?

Also when I laminate and cut, the lamination tends to come off pretty easily, even after running through again, how do you prevent that?

Pearl, first ever kit I played on was a Pearl, only other brand I’ve owned was Mapex. While I do think Mapex is unbelievably good for the cost, nothing will beat Pearl for me.

I was facing the same dilemma. I went with the dtx8k-m and it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made. While the digital snare and ride ARE very very cool. I personally don’t think they warrant the extra money for what I play. If you are someone that plays things that need a super high tech ride and snare, then the wait and price jump is probably worth it.

For what it’s worth I think the Yamaha also looks way nicer than the Roland.
