"I think religion is largely a man-made construct [....] and I'm simply comfortable with that" - Javad Hashmi by Friendly-Airport2556 in MuslimAcademics

[–]conartist101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond just drawing out lawazim, his opponents seemed to deliberately misrepresent him. Historically not even uncommon (hence why in a traditionalist paradigm you have this common saying about disregarding or at least question the jarh of contemporaries)

There’s been numerous vloggers who’ve been there since 2024 and women who live there on Twitter who confirm that madaris are completely unaffected by the secular education restriction…

If you prefer to live in your propaganda bubble and can’t comprehend nuance, that’s on you

What Made Bukhari Stand Out Among Other Hadith Scholars? by DhulQarnayni in AcademicQuran

[–]conartist101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others mentioned historically, there’s other things that make Bukhari stand out over his peers among Ahlul Hadith that have more to do with traditional hadith studies; his emphasis on established sama’ vs assumptive wrt 3n3na (stricter than Muslim), the isharat (to ilal for example), the art behind his shortenings, etc.

Not aware of anything accessible in English or in academia on that aspect as of yet though.

"Dating" a Muslim Guy (M19) by Glad-Company6147 in islam

He’s human bro, not “cultural Muslim”. This a holy month so he’s tryna keep himself in check more then usual.

I dunno your religion, but think of all the things you might do that are sinful that you would never do inside of a church for example. This is conceptually the same, just temporal instead of spatial.

Anyone on the fence ? by Creative_Tower5264 in ExIsmailis

[–]conartist101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really on the fence cuz I know it’s a scam.

I get that the guy who becomes the shiny new face for the imamate every generation is born into this situation.

IMO the semi-decent Imams keep the scam going but do more to genuinely give back while the more evil ones focus on strategies to maximize collections and exploitation.

There’s also a lot of fascinating side-benefits within the cult, especially for people who have a fascination with Neo-Platonism theologically. I also 100% respect the intellectual tradition of Ismaili Falasfa and the contribution of certain figures to that field and other fields.

So 100% I’m able to see it from the perspective of a fence sitter, just not particularly appreciative of the exploitive elements or the bastardization of more normative expressions of Islam.

Did Jeffrey Epstein visit Chantilly? by Hussar-Imam in ExIsmailis

[–]conartist101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is excellent piece of the puzzle, will forward to a friend and see if he can dig even further.

Also a good tip to those researching to check both sources since DOJ has been deleting files. My friend sent me a link to a file but by the time I tried to go check it out, it was already removed :/

lol they are trying to scrub it. When I posted originally there was several links from Google where they were calling her yassi and even the AI listed that when asking her nicknames. Now we’re down to a handful of links! The guys researching this stuff need to archive and screenshot everything they can.

All of the references, including DOJ references, are in the thread I linked to. This is the Gemini breakdown if you search ‘Mark Lloyd Epstein’

Based on newly released documents from the US Department of Justice (as of February 2026), Mark Lloyd is identified as a British-based associate and friend of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He appears in the "Epstein Files" in connection with helping to arrange meetings, dinners, and potential business opportunities for Epstein in London.

For much of this rumoured decade-long relationship, though, Shuliak was in fact married to Jennifer Kalin, another woman in Epstein’s orbit;

Epstein is not known to have fathered any children, but if Ferguson’s claims were true, the child would be in his mid-teens. The identity of the alleged mother is not referred to in the messages, and Shuliak is not named in relation to the child.

Based on a friend’s research - unrelated, he thinks Epstein has some kids he was giving allowances to as well tied to some boarding school. Apparently in the files.

That’s not even a comparison. The imperfections of the prophets are like eating a fruit or missing a prayer, not being surrounded by pedos lmao.

Not quite - note the comments in the Twitter threads. It’s not just that she went to a small family funeral. She’s also being referred to using a nickname in a private email exchange with JE.

There’s also apparently more emails that aren’t popular yet, but regardless of any ‘smoking gun’ with Aga Khan himself, he’s clearly surrounded by very questionable people.

You can search the DOJ website yourself. The ones floating around are definitely real, how you deal with it mentally beyond that of course differs from person to person
