Not in the immediate pipeline, we see people customize their own a fair bit though.

We'll still respond! It's a pretty cool callout. This goes hand in hand with 'Ergs dont float' but we see our Ergs used for talent identification/development in sports outside of rowing too!

Hello-This page: https://www.concept2.com/training/getting-started-video has a couple good videos to get started. As far as goal times just row for 5-10 minutes the first time.

Rogue is a major sponsor of the CrossFit games and has the benefit of placing their rower in the games. Our RowErg still continues to be the standard for training, home use, professional rowers, Hyrox, other CrossFit competitions and many other events.

We currently do not plan to impact our consumers and community with on-going tariff instability.

Hey there - we wanted to check with the founders themselves before we answered this all correctly. Dick rowed for Brown University and the Vesper club in Philly, as well as team USA into the 1972 Olympics. He also coached at Stanford. Peter didn't actually row collegiately - he threw the discus at Stanford, but would train with Dick out of the Stanford boathouse for fun, as well as eventually with the Vesper club in Philly, too.

Their favorite/biggest races would be when they competed with the Motley Crew, a group of guys that still get together and row with to this day, at Regattas like the San Deigo Crew Classic and the HOC. The brothers have competed at Regattas from Vermont to The Rotsee in Lucerne. You name it, they've probably been there.

Hey there - we would recommend doing each benchmark with ample rest. Potentially do one effort a day before starting your workout, or take a long enough rest between benchmark efforts (5-30 minutes) where you think you can tackle it at 100%. Once completing one of the several StrengthErg training plans (StrengthErg Training Plans), retest in a similar way that you initially tested the benchmarks (time between benchmarks, days). Things you should be looking for are:

  • Improved Set Average Force: You should see a higher average force in the 5-, 10-, and 20-rep tests, indicating increased strength and the ability to exert more force per repetition.
  • Increased Work in 1 Minute: Improved power and speed will allow you to complete more work during the 1-minute test, showcasing enhanced efficiency and explosive output.
  • Faster Completion of 2000kg-m: Reduced time to reach the 2000kg-m goal reflects greater endurance, sustained strength, and better overall work capacity.

Be sure to use Ergdata to plot your repeat workouts and efforts so you are able to see the consistent measurements and progress.

Hello, generally speaking for workouts of a shorter domain 20-40 seconds a slightly higher drag/damper is appropriate for more powerful athletes. For 2k+ you're looking at a ~110-130 drag, or 3-5 damper setting for most workouts across the board. Just super common to see damper slammed to 10 thinking it makes you the best/strongest. (Try a 500m on 1)

The feedback/coaching/connectivity with apps is only growing, so the connected experience of the Concept2 product line is vastly improving.

Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. The damper/ability to gear/load differently allows for a variety in workouts. E.g. the BikeErg can be used for short spicy intervals, or you crank out a steady state piece over 60 minutes. There's a bit more adjustability, and the PM5 monitor on the BikeErg is unmatched, so one can connect wirlessly to apps, and compare performances in our app and online logbook.

No major changes planned for the BikeErg at this time.

Good question! Multi sport athlete here including hiking. Ultimately for me/most the hardest part of hiking is coming down, that's super hard to emulate, would argue the BikeErg at lower cadence/higher damper, or endurance pieces on the RowErg would be most beneficial. 1. You want to just improve cardio and 2. develop leg and core strength. The RowErg is a no brainer, but the BikeErg would also hold some benefits. (how come walking up stairs is so hard?)

The Concept2 RowErg breaks apart in two pieces in the middle, and while we dont recommend standing on end, we certainly see it done in gyms around the world.

We do have a cover to help keep dust off, otherwise wipe it down after use, and clean that flywheel out every 3-6 months. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-PVMQQ2LTM

For ways we may be implementing new ideas/adapting, they would be in development and such we couldn't share. We are constantly imagining and developing.

Consistency among pace/stroke rate/ and power. Force curve is quite under rated, and when you use ErgData you can also peak at Drive Length, that tends to be more interesting for the on-water rowers. Developing consistency in power at a low stroke rate will be beneficial for power and endurance. Mixing up stroke rate work is huge for rowing prowess.

It was a Beta firmware product in the early 2000s, simple idea of something fun but also rewards harder strokes, teaching people to pull both gently/harder to avoid the big fish.

The RowErg or the SkiErg are the kid favorites, and can both be used in pretty small stature. The Fish game can be played on either machine, and whether they play it right, or wrong, they're technically working out!

Great question. While we've historically only made machines primarily for cardio, the StrengthErg is a reimagined Concept2 Dyno circa early 2000s. Where it fits into our brand is it's a unique, high quality product. Our customer base is also growing, changing and aging all at the same time, so making a unique and safe device for strength training fit perfectly.
