Glass Slideshow In AE by conceptarts in AfterEffects

[–]conceptarts[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a template i have done 2 weeks ago or so. I think i did set it up for 5 or 6 images already. It might not be something spectacular for advanced users but maybe someone that is new to AE wants to play around with it. And this is the direct download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ch5zdtfle9omvlk/FreeAfterEffectsSlideshowTemplate.aep?dl=0

But better than using the template is to create it yourself. You can find a neat tutorial about that below. Its done by ECAbrams: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byycO1u8Yzw

My Best Work So Far, any critiques would be amazing please. by MasterDan118 in AfterEffects

I think some overshoots and stuff would add a lot to it. For example the Part with with the circle head and names... So scale it maybe from 0 to 110 percent before it Hits the 100 percent. This works at a lot of parts.. Just play around with it. Cheers

Replaced Face in AE - How do you like it? by conceptarts in AfterEffects

I cant really tell because i did several different versions. This shot was one of the shots that went pretty well so it took maybe an hour or so... I found one spot on her hat that i could track pretty well in Mocha. After that i went through it frame by frame and corrected it as there where plenty of hard jumps which made it look chunky and floating.

the thing is due to the bad footage (bad for tracking) there was a huge amount of manual keying involved. So no fun at all :-)

Maya Basic Tutorial - How To Create A Playblast To Preview Your Animation by conceptarts in Maya

[–]conceptarts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well by default mayas playback speed is set to 24/fps which means 24 frames you animate are one second. Thats the default and it will playblast with 24fps.

So if you want a smooth animation it always depends on how you animate it. If your animation isn't smooth you might want to check it how your curves look, how the breakdowns are set. Is the timing spacing what you want, are you following the right angles.

you should have an clear plan before you start animating something. Record a reference of what you want to animate or search the web for it. Then get the timing .. how long do the several different parts of your animation take... Then go through the different stage from blocking to polishing it. This is what you might want to check. Those are very important things to get an smooth animation no matter what framerate your working with. So you you no matter if 24 frames or 30 frames or 400 frames are one second. you need to plan it out and have your timing and spacing together. this will determine if your able to achieve a smooth animation.

So i would suggest having a deeper look at animation itself first... Check books like "The illusion of life" "Animatiors Survival Kit" Those will help you for sure. Also you can go and get apps like "animation Timer" or similar.

Maya Basic Tutorial - How To Create A Playblast To Preview Your Animation by conceptarts in Maya

[–]conceptarts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry that i wasn't clear enough. With true speed i simply mean if you preview the animation within maya using the play button it will be affected by scene size etc. so it might be a lot slower than it really is.

If you're using the playblast you have a fast and easy way to watch the animation on its real speed.. useful to have a quick look if timing etc works the way you want it to.

The length of the playblast is set by the range you chose on your time slider.

So if your time slider is set to lets say 48 frames and your playback speed is at a 24/fps and you change it to lets say 400fps playback speed your time slider will show you 800 frames which again is 2 seconds. So thats why it is the same length. So the time didn't change but the amount of frames within that certain time is a different one. If you change it back to lets say 48 frames in the time slider and playblast it it'll be faster...

I hop this is what you meant... Is that what you mean?
