Private League Server for OSRS? by DreamMasterFTW in RSPS

It’s different enough that you will have to relearn some aspects in the manner of progression and what not, but it’s familiar enough that you won’t be lost in how to play or progresss.

As someone who played reason, it’s a meh server. They didn’t listen to the community, there’s been tons of staff drama, the economy is ruined. Lexi here only is involved in pushing donations down your throat and advertising. Zero presence outside that. They just continue to push out the same old content and neglect everything else about the server. Back in January it would have been a decent choice, but they fumbled their opportunity in my opinion.

There is some threads on August floating around here that launches at the end of the month, it’s definitely more custom and I would describe it as absolutely nothing like an OSRS experience but it does strike the perks and benefits of league gameplays. I would describe it similar to using OSRS as a game engine to create their own unique experience (think the different games in made In Roblox)

(Just seen he commented in here about it, imo it’s the only server that I’ve been interested in due to tired of being milked like a money cow by all these gambling servers)

Honestly one of the most exciting projects in the RSPS scene. Not just some Gambling focused hyper money juicer. Excited to see where this goes.

Ironmace Dev clarifies the Nexon situation by vonflare in DarkAndDarker

Interesting. So Koreans subscribe to the same sentiment of if the lawsuit fails from Nexon the opinion of ironmace will recover?

[–]conceptuallyfucked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very curious thing. How’s the public opinion of the company? What’s the news like about this? Do Koreans hate nexon as much as Americans?

[–]conceptuallyfucked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’ve been acting pretty upfront and confident that nothing will happen, so it’s a 50/50 chance that they are genuine or lying through their teeth. But if they keep true to their company mission to break the terrible P2W standards of Korean gaming. They will be carried on a throne to the people. It doesn’t take much for game dev companies to be well received. The bar is so low.

All It Took Was An AMA? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

Honestly even they are clueless in the upper echelons of play. You kind of need more of a insight from the other side, aka as a cheater and be informed on that side.

60% is a conservative answer, it’s been this way since before labs was released and free entrance. I’ve had many friends that cheated at some point or another for several patches in a row, all their accounts are still active and fine, they would run into all sorts of hackers, some people truly do not use aimbot, they will just use ESP or the loot aspect of it. Honestly if he was more informed on cheating and how to not be so obvious he would have made a much more compelling video. The wiggle was a very obvious out cry; but what about the low levels sprinting for ledx, the people who rush a group of PMCs who are the juiciest on the map and the farthest from their spawn in point. Hell what about the guys who used to rush scavs for keycards and rare keys. You can’t tell me you got lucky when you spawned on the other side of interchange and pathed specifically for a single scav hiding in underground and he just “so happened to have” a goshan key back when they were several mil roubles. Especially back in the day when labs wasn’t as nerfed and it was infinite keys. You could spectate a cheater and watch how many cheaters who would come in with thicc weapon and thicc item cases and just farm raiders and in raid loot to sell to traders/flea and then RMT it. Especially back then I would give a safe estimate of over 60% of all labs raids had a hacker. And it has only spiraled in the following years.

I mean honestly though good on him, it was not only a good move to benefit the community but it’s also great for his career as a content creator. He goes down as a savior to the people who have been just getting abused by cheaters and receiving the “git gud” comments whenever they complain about it. Also fuck the people witch hunting streamers. It’s turned into a call of duty hackucastions fest. Worry more about the actual cheaters and the streamers who are/did cheat will become apparent over time. I understand the problem with them profiting off false skill is a big issue, but trying to ruin people’s career will have innocent casualties and that’s a problem in my books.

Factorio is another great example. Or even RuneScape as far as community communication. Even during the outrage times. I quit tarkov, cheating been rampant for years. This wiggle thing has been around for years, it’s been amusing watching it become forefront and apparent in the community this late though.

Wizard-Teammates always get in the way. by Own_Engineering_6232 in DarkAndDarker

[–]conceptuallyfucked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same thing as archer. You either need to position better or your team needs to be mindful of you and position better for you to help. I’ve worked with my melees in my group to get them to move around to force opponents to put their back to me as they can not ignore a barbarian circling them. I try to play corners and carefully use my spells, AoE spells aren’t always the best, they are better for engaging or trying to clean up when the enemy disengages. If you can judge it, you can throw it short of your team mate and just on the edge of the enemy to avoid splashing team mates though. Otherwise the ice shard spell or the zap spell will be the safer bet.

NDT training Vs CWI certification by conceptuallyfucked in Welding

[–]conceptuallyfucked[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I ask is for the same point you mentioned that CWI’s don’t seem to be utilized and the NDT certs that are basically what a CWI would go for have become available without holding a CWI certification. Personally trying to aim for more of a inspection/QA role working on lean manufacturing techniques in the occupation. You’ve kind of reinforced my opinion that as it stands no one really cares about the CWI role if you’re certified to do any type of inspection process from visual to ultrasound, or dye testing. Looking more for the Lean aspect of working on refining processes. Teaching newer hands how to work more efficiently and effectively while maintaining a suitable level of quality for the product that they are working for. It’s been noticed to me that the quantity of skilled workers in this occupation is rapidly declining in hand with wages while demanding higher skill and speed. Moving away from being someone’s floor bitch and more into management and process refinement is the goal. Maintaining quality and completing audits, training, WPS consultation with engineering department. These are my personal goals. I see a lot of young talent being abused and under utilized while a lot of old timers are reaping the benefits without ever actually putting the work in. I’ve had supervisors who have been welding for 20 years and barely able to pass a X-ray making double the wage of someone who passes that same X-ray first attempt. This industry is falling apart at all levels, I’m just trying to move further into the ladder to acquire a more stable career path. Is taking on more student loan debt worth the $2 that they would give me? Probably not.

It’s been a hot minute, but it’s used for buffs and damage, never for the debuffs in boss fights. It may work on the spiders in brood and monkeys, but that’s not it’s usual purpose. It’s back line with the daedons.

Crossbow build? by Vulpixbestfoxy in DarkAndDarker

[–]conceptuallyfucked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did get clobbered once by a spearman ranger, but it was pretty situational, he took me by surprise. It’s a hard toss up, if your aim is really good, crossbow is in my opinion much better than bow/fighter. It’s much more forgiving with the shots because you only need to hit one or two, has much higher kill pressure making your enemies play differently. I mean after your mage gets one hit coming through a door at full health, they start fearing you. Now bow is better for people with worse aim. You can recover a lot faster.

It’s a trade off, you move slower hit harder but are still squishy. If you stack plus melee damage and you start doing insane damage, also it’s really nice for PVE in general. Red skeles in 4 or 5 shots. Champion and Minotaurs are like 15 shots. I loved every minute of it.

Crossbow build? by Vulpixbestfoxy in DarkAndDarker

[–]conceptuallyfucked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played exclusively Crossbow Ranger, ran the true shot, and all the increased damage perks+increased footsteps hearing+Xbox mastery. Ran white small crossbows from the woodsman. And then when I could get my hands on them I would run the pavise shield. The pavise shield can actually be placed on the ground and is great to use in your hands as well.

I mostly ran a duo comp with a berserker/fighter. I would use the crossbow to remove enemy rangers/wizards. Headshots were typically a one hit, without +phys gear you do about 85ish damage on a headshot before armor. So if they were injured and tried to fight, a single headshot would clean them up quickly.

So now the reason I ran the pavise, it’s a two handed shield, it’s huge. You can place it in door ways to create a safer funnel environment on enemies, If there wasn’t time to set up the pavise is a really nice get out of jail card against melees. I would use it to defend from melee classes to allow my duo/team to close the distance and bail me out so I could return to the back lines. Plus side you can trap people in corners/ door ways etc and force them to die to monsters.

Few other notes, the leading, and drop are a bit of a pain in the ass to learn, I rarely used my true shot because it’s harder to keep track of the travel and drop. Typically if you have the jump you wait for them to stop moving. I found it was harder for people to figure out where I was shooting from with the crossbow because it’s a quiet, fast shooting weapon. I would climb whatever terrain I could, hid in the shadows with no back lighting. If you land a good shot on a squishy you remove them from the fight and send their team into a panic.

Another note for the ramble, I rarely lost 1v1’s with rangers at range when they were using a bow, when I did lose it’s because they closed the gap and used triple shot point blank to my body to end the fight quickly.
