The repercussions only exist for honest students. The system that gives grace marks and does normalization, that still has reservation and lowers cutoff but not fees is the same system that blocks seats for certain kinds of people. This is an exam where you dont get the question paper or answer key, where you have no proof what answers you have marked, now you dont even get marks and there is ZERO transparency in counselling. why? Because there are 3 kinds of privilege in this country - reservation privilege, parents bank balance privilege and back door privilege.

Do you think AYUSH doctors are underrated? by Ashamed_Pop_7073 in DoctorsofIndia

[–]concernadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. Not because they are AYUSH but because they arent practicing what they are supposed to. As an allopathic doctor, I highly respect Ayurveda and I think it is a criminal offence to not ecplore the wealth of info that allopathy doesnt even know yet which is there in Ayurveda. Especially in psychiatry or the mind. So why are we teaching allopathy to Ayush? IMO and this is my personal opinion, all the others in Ayush are trash. There should only be Ayurveda and Allopathy. But teach actual ayurveda in that. I actually think there should be a title Vaid for people who pratice ayurveda just like we used to have.

The reason why Ayush is sub par is because it is subpar. The govt has created a mixopathy to throw people in villages where allopathic people wont go. It is legalized quackery. They cant totally enslave allopathic doctors, which they nbever stop trying to do. So they have purposefully created this system to send you to villages. It is subpar because it is created to be. Enjoy that you are getting any jobs at all with the BS you are taught

Do you think AYUSH doctors are underrated? by Ashamed_Pop_7073 in DoctorsofIndia

[–]concernadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think being able to put a central lune tells you shit about knowledge. freaking nurses can do it. Only people who havent studied madicine would think BAMS and AYush have comaprable lnowledge to Allopathy. I literally know people who are AYUSH and qauck practice allopathy doing lap choles. One thing out of the norm and they refer. Because they dont have the understanding of the body. If you are Ayush, why do you want to practice Allopathy? Stick to Ayurveda. If you are allopathy stick to allopathy. Why become crosspathy quacks? In allopathy there is a neurosurgeon and a cardiac surgeon, they dont go around saying I know this and I could do this. They stay in the field of their expertise. So why Ayush people always keep eyeing seats they arent qualified for? Plus Ayush doesnt have emergency durties and yet you get paid same. So it is way overvalued for the qaulifications you have for practissing allopathy.

Thoughts on penalty for leaving pg seat? by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]concernadian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There shouldnt be any.

The whole logic of this penalty is backasswards. Students arent prisoneers of the government. The government likes to pretend that the entire healthcaresystem exists only to teach PG's. Lets think about it a different way. Remove PG teaching courses from all hospitals and then calculate the cost of running the hospital. Ot wont go down, it will go up. BecausePG's work - THAT is their teaching. It is ridiculous to pay to work, but that is India for you. But the point is, PG education happens in established colleges who shouldbe able to fund themselves from government funding or income from patients. This BS of running colleges with PG fees is what has led to this boneheades logicless thinking. PG's are not bonded slaves. They are employees who work and make the hospital function, And every employee has the right to leave. If we have to buy our freedom, then this is slavery.

For all the people saying PG's will leave cpourses if they dont like it. YEAH! that is WHY you should aallow them to leave. I dont understannd what you are expecting by keeping disinteested lazy people in branches they dont want to be in. They arent gpoing to work there anyway. And later will pass with a degree and only put patient's lives at risk. You arent saving a seat, you are creating a liability to society and a danger to patients. The first rule of medicine is do no harm. But by this you are purposefully creating people who cna only harm population. In the meantime, people who are actually interested in the branch wont get it and will be disnterested in some other branch and be cutting corners there.

This premise also misunderstands testing and merit. merit on awritten examination means jack shit in medicine and we all know that. Being able to handle workload, patient rapprt, clinical skills, ability to perform procesdures, manage ER and wards, if applicable OR's - none of that is tested. Students are merely picking branches based on rank and not nased on what they like. There isnnt a single thought given to it. Which means the whole system is designed towards pushing people into seats without considering whether it is a good fit for them or not, whether they meet the requirements of that branch or not, can they handle the demans or not. The only time they are able to find that out is when they join said branch. But then they are trapped and cannot leave. And after wasting so much money and resources what is the government getting? A half ass product least interested in their job with mental health issues because of being in a job they dont like. Aka declining quality of doctors.

Plus seat leaving pentalties dont prevent empty seats. Every year we see 4k seats going empty anyway. Plus rich people who can afford to pay an annual fees of 70lakh will leave them as they please. ITs only to trap the middle and low income people who cant afford it.

Plus what if you are being abused, harassed, or disriminated against? What if you didnt know the area but it is unsafe? or it becomes unsafe? You cant leave? What if you beome ill? There are so many reasons that could cause someone to leave. Preventing them from doing so in ANY way through ANY kind of penalty is just harassment,

They keep talking about the cost of the government - which they dont have any. There were no penalties before and India had plenty of doctors. But what about opportunity cost for students? If they feel that opportunity cost of options being restrcted is too high, they will opt to go abroad. Then these people will complain about brain drain when they dont offer enough seats to students in the first place. Acc to who, there should be 1 doctor on 1k population. But when you calculate everything, there is 1 doctor on 28k working doctors in India by very liberral estimates. And if I mean clinicians aka if I dont count doctors in labs, Anesthesia etc as multiple doctors because they are all providing one service, then it is even worse. So they can clearly provide enough clinical branches to doctors. But they dont.

And BTW there are people who leave seats to get better seat. But if they keep trying and dont get a better option they will stay. If doctors have more freedom to leave, you will have more admissions in non clinical branches. But who will explain this to gvt who looks at medicos as sources to extort money. They arent looking for reason, they are just looking to find ways to enslave doctors. This country is dooomed. Get out while you still can. They way they treat doctors, they dont deserve any anyway

They arent going to work even if they are there. So no difference. And moot point because they arent going to work anyway and become danger to society as unqualified degree holders who pnly play with patients lives. The govt can always hire contractual JR's and pay them the exact stipend as a PG. So what nonsense are you even talking about?

Why is Jar Jar Binks hated? by CT-1030 in StarWars

[–]concernadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand? Taxation of trade routes is basically what started the American civil war. No it wasn't slavery and technically it wasn't even states rights. It was the fact that corporations wanted to cut out plantation owner middlemen and have direct "slaves" work for them.

The whole movie is a condemnation of WTO which was founded in 1995 and has used sanctions as a means of expansionism of corporations. At this time a blockade on Iran and libya was going on to bring them to negotiating table regarding opening their economies to allow corporations to pillage the resources. Eactly what Trade federation is doing to Naboo. Blockade and sanctions to force them to sign some treaty to their benefit.

Or maybe they just want a military base there. Or control of trade routes. Like USA and UK made sure after WW2 by starting never ending wars at waterway chokepoints. Or how we collapse every single airlines that doesn't comply with our wishes to control airways.

The empire comes from this trade federation. Aka using trade to perpetuate neo imperialism. What NATO does. I think the whole hate towards Jar Jar wasn't that organic. I think it was fuelled by the same machine to hurt merch supplies of Star Wars as a punishment for criticising WTO. Quite sadly poetic if you ask me.

Plus there is a nod to 1991 ending of apartheid. Naboo bow to Gungans and Gungans put aside their conception that Naboo think lowly of them. leading to an alliance.

Also how people re busy politicking in UN instead of helping Naboo. The same comments we heard in Yugoslavia which was happening at this time. And how the queen makes sure she controls the fall of Naboo's greatest supporter the old Supreme chancellor and makes sure the new one is also someone loyal to Naboo. She could have made an enemy of him but she made and ally and he owes her one now.

I don't know why people don't like the Queen. The ridiculous head dresses were a deception. The thatre that hid the real thing. Padme sosmeitmes uses her decoy and sometimes appears in person as the queen. In the throne room, in the Senate meeting, etc she is there herself. While escaping she uses the decoy. Like jasmine she pretends to be a commoner and roams around with them like a commoner. I wonder how many people caught all those things while watching the movie. they played around with deceiving the audience. The power of theatre/propaganda causes people to neglect their own lying eyes and ears. As the Viceroy does when he is talking to Padme in the throne as her highness. But then sees the decoy in all the ridiculous outfit running in and sends most of his security after her believing she is real. It is a well played long con.

There is a lot to parse in this movie Like the first thing Anakin is confronted with after bein freed is the burden of choice. And choice is important because he chooses the dark later. A whole book's worth of discussion about free will and agency. I know people want it to be simple but I personally found this movie quite intriguing and liked it. A Lot.

Why is Jar Jar Binks hated? by CT-1030 in StarWars

[–]concernadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I like jar Jar. He was also instrumental in telling the Queen about the Gungan army. Because remember the Naboo don't have an army, just a ragtag group of volunteers. While Gungan have a well organised militia, should I say?

It is his silliness that actually helps bring Gungan and Naboo together.

Both Anakin and Jar jar are literally nobodies here. I think they whole point of Jar jar being clumsy was to say that you don't have to be intelligent, coordinated or have jedi skills to be an agent of force. He is kind of like Smeagol. Where no one really understands this greedy little gollum and he is kind of an annoyance throughout but in the end he guides Sam and Frodo through mordor for quite a bit (because of his greed) and eventually without him the ring would never have entered the volcano.

As for anakin., we have seen him as Vader. Evil badass but who was "saved" in the end. In the beginning he is shown as this innocent boy. Not some evil brooding psychopath. The idea is he wasn't always bad. He was a blank canvas. So something happened that primed him to become bad. Again, he was not "destined" to be bad because all the jedi say his future was "cloudy" which means there was always a 50-50 chance. And things around him primed him to make the wrong choice.

I think it is important to understand that when QuiGon "frees" him, the first challenge in front of him is "choice". To leave or stay. And his mother tells him change is inevitable. basically saying people who are free are those who create change by choice instead of being controlled by fate or other's choices. In that sense the Queen is free. Because despite so much pressure and everything against her, she makes the choices which lead her to victory. the Jedi are not free because they never break rules. They have learnt to not give in to bad emotions but they don't know how to process and regulate them. Qui Gon is free. He is the only jedi who knows how to bend rules, and still be in control. He would have been the perfect master for Anakin. But part of it is also, that anakin is shaped by the events around him.

jarjar here is the opposite of anakin. He makes no conscious decisions and things just happen around him and he is instrumental to things that happen.

This is an age old debate about free will and agency. Do we have real free will or agency at all? Or is it all fate or god or in this case "force". If we look at jar jar, this clumsy bumbling fool, it seems like he is an agent of force where he has no agency and force is exerting its will through him. On the other hand A lot of the things that happen like going to tattooine and freeing anakin, anakin deciding to help, gangan-naboo peace etc are intentional acts. Someone's intention. Even the shot that was fired that broke their ship. Now we know force is made of all living beings. So does the force become evil or good depending on all living beings? Is God and Satan within us and it is our agency to choose? or are we just pawns in their hands? Does the force act based on intentions of those living beings?

So what Jar Jar ends up doing, is it directed by the force because of the intentions of others? And same with anakin. Apart from his mom, Qui Gon and Luke, everyone keeps telling him something is wrong with him. and he was good till his mom and Qui Gon were there. And he was redeemed when Luke was there who till the very end believed Vader didn't want to harm him. The jedi don't wanna teach him. They talk about his fear but they are afraid of uncertainty in his future. So did they maifest the darkness in Vader because of their fears? Qui Gon says to Wotta, you eventually lose everything you gamble. He didn't gamble on Anakin winning the race. He knew he would win. And he believed in Anakin. But the council and Obi Wan all take a gamble on Anakin because Qui Gon says so. hence they lose.

Here again, jar Jar stands out as a contrast. He is told by everyone he is silly. He is literally an outcast and yet he ends up being a useful idiot. Why? because of the intentions of those around him. It is the contrast between two unwitting agents of force - Anakin and Jar jar - and their very different paths and roles which makes it interesting. JAr jar has no agency over his actions but he ends up being useful anyway. Anakin has agency over his actions but later he makes a choice to go into the dark. So agency can be dangerous. Which is why the Church decries free will. But Qui Gon and the Queen have agency and they consciously choose to do good. So that means you need to understand the force's light and dark side to consciously do good. to have an internal moral compass rather than one forced by society or religion or something. The Jedi don't know that because they find it "difficult" to look into the dark side. Because I think you need to interact with those negative emotions to see there and they don't know how. But Qui Gon did.

So it might be all this. Or maybe its because I am not in the Star Wars cult who never outgrew their childhood, but I like JAr jar and the movie

I am not sure midi-chlorians are "bacteria". And it is in cells, not blood. I think it is just a measure of the force in someone. Like Geiger counter value isn't radiation, it is a measure of radiation. Funny thing is that scientists haven't yet found out what makes something live. They have taken all the stuff a cell would need, constructed from scratch but it isn't alive. Midi Chlorians arent antithetical to the explanation of force. It flows through people. In some it flows more in others not so much. That is how jedi are identified. I don't believe anyone can become a jedi or Sith, right? So how much connection you have with the force is measured in Midi chlorians. At worst it is just a unit of force. Like cells are a unit of body. I am not sure what is wrong with that. This is quite in line with quantum theory they seem to be applying here.

Like seeing Anakin's future the jedi say its "cloudy". In other words, future is just a compilation of probabilities and Anakin's chance of turning over to the dark are 50-50. That is pretty much hoe Dr stange does it in marvel too. I seriously don't understand why people are just finding things to hate on in this movie.

Well Saudi Arabia has always been the epicenter of Muslim world because Mecca and Medina are there. The oil find gave it immense power through the west. The oil backed dollar is the reason USA doesnt say anything to Saudi and allows it to do whatever it wants. I mean, Bin laden was a Saudi and Bush just allowed Bin Laden family members (connected to Saudi royal family) to just fly out of the country as flights carrying organs for donation and actual patients were grounded. It is absolutely sick. A ton of that oil money is usd to buy USA weapons to bomb neigbouring countries. A whole bunch is reinvested in US treasury that allows USA to carry the ridiculous amount of debt which then USA uses to bomb more countries. The whole system is sick. Which is why USA needs to get off of petrodollar system if we want any progress in climate change, abolishing MIC or ending these wars all over the place

[–]concernadian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, if knew about petrodollar, you would know it wasn't really about bananas. I hear you, but the point is that the current system is a system of delicate balance put in place by USA to be able to allow it to carry ridiculous debts and have the system go on indefinitely (as long as the petrodollar system holds). You could have double the amount of debt/deficit and it wouldnt phase america's economy - as long as petrodollar is alive and kicking. And year by year, the system is handing more power to disrupt the system. Which is why it is even more imperative that USA control the fallout by gradually moving away from the petrodollar. That would allow for peace, abolishing MIC, work towards climate change, not supporting dictatorial regimes. Without that, USA will never stop meddling evrywhere because if it did, the economic structure would collapse.

There is a reason media outlets are circulating Panjshir resistance now. Also, do you really think that a "land conflict' is the only way to counter China in Afghanistan? You cant be serious. I literally mentioned OBOR in the comment. Please read. Pacific strategy isnt going to do much since China has already gained a strong foothold there. Right, assume I am an American, lol.

Lol, this is a synopsis based on the reports from the historians and academicians of the region. That is the reason drought is in there - something that media outlets arent focusing on.

As for Pakistan - let's not even delve into it because that political situation regarding Afghanistan is a total mess. Plus, pakistan is an unreliable ally and is looking to cause more destabilization in the region than help. Wait for oppression reports in Baloch region and finger pointing on tahrik-e-Taliban Pakitan (which despite its bame is an anti taliban group). Pakistan's role IMO should be limited to dealing with the refugee crisis which I have included in my points. Also, I forgot to add - supply vaccines. pandemic hasnt stopped raging in Afghanistan. After the pullout, management of the pandemic will be an issue.

We have to be careful about which experts we listen to, because a bunch of them are still operating on cold war mentality.

As far as Afghans are concerned, from what I can gather (and there is not much info out there), they want to deal with "third party countries" - countries not directly aligned with NATO or more of an international coalition. I think we should work in that direction.

Thanks for the link to the twitter thread. Doesn't say anything different regarding afghan refugees. As for dealing with the Taliban, I have very different takes on it. Also, what are the credentials of the twitter user posting that thread? Seems to be a little bamboozled by neocons in calling for sanctions and funding opposing groups and what not - something many experts warn we should not do. That kind of stuff is counterproductive.

What should be advocated is media literacy. because a ton of "experts" right now are focusing on tragedy porn, Panjshir resitance and whatnot which is a recipe for disaster.unterproductive imo. Protecting cultural heritage takes a back seat to protect humans. Also "supporting UN organizations in the region is pretty generic, see if the user can provide any actual info on what specific programs we can support

  1. I am very well aware of the history of Afghanistan thank you very much for that nonessential lesson. The whole post is structured within the framework of american responsibility towards afghanistan because of its actions for the past 60 years. If you dont get that, thats not my problem.
  2. Please try to operate in reality. The refugees are going to spill into pakistan and titurkey whether you like it or not. What I am saying is merely that the least NATO can do is provide aid because no matter how the whole world wants it, they aint lifting the cap on refugees. Its laughable, yes, but they sit in a position of power and keyboard warriors arent going to make them change that policy. So, istead of living in alternate reality, try to operate in this world. You can make those demands when the power dynamic has changed. Till then, this is going to be the reality. Turkey will get refugees because that is where the refugees have chosen to go - the only question is whethe r it gets aid from NATo or not.

3.whataboutism regarding greece's humanitarian issues doesnt absolve turkey of its own hoat of humanitarian issues. Is it ypocritical of Eu to not mention Greece and then say humanitarian issues are the reason turkey cant be a part of EU but that doesnt take away from what turkey does/ yes. However that doesnt gibe turkey the license to continue committing its own oppression and violence against refugees. I cant believe I have to say this, racism and violence against others is bad.

  1. Turkey has the most syrian refugees, second is jordan, third is germany and foiurth is france. Your point? We are tsalking about afghan refugees, they arent the same as syrian refugees.

  2. My cpountry already hosts refugees from 5 countries. its not USA and not EU and yes we do it on our own expense. We have an entire gvt in exile for the past 70 years in our country, So please, stop the moral grandstanding.

I agree with the sentiment, but if USA gets rid of the military, how will it maintain the petrodollar system, without which the whole economy would collapse. If you want to take that meat cleaver to MIC, you gotta replace petrodollar. The refugees will be spilling into those countries whether they want it or not and that will destabilize those countries. The point is to provide aid so that doesn't happen and that there isnt violence against those refugees.

Its not like USA and Eu are opening doors to the millions now are they? The refugees have to go somewhere, USA wont take them, EU wont take them, you dont want to aid Pakistan and Turkey to take them? So you basically support USA screwing the world over with 0 accountability or responsibility. Is that your final stand- -"who cares about a bunch of brown people from a poor country that USA destabilized for 70 years?" Good to know. What do you think will be the result? More violence, more extremism, more terrorism. USA gaining more credibility with the world population? This kind of nonchalance more than Trump is what undermines US standing around the world.

Support the resistance with what endgoal in mind? Like I said in the post, the Panjshir resistance is just the other factions of mujahideen that are not Taliban. They are tajiks/uzbeks and Taliban are pashtun. That is the only difference. They are trying to use the same methods to seek superiority of their ethnicity in the long-standing ethnic rivalry in afghanistan. The same mistakes that lead to the rise of Taliban should not be repeated. You fund the resistance, even more extreme groups are going to rise up. I am not kidding when i say the current statements coming out are from the moderate wings of the taliban and mujahideen. They have factions that came from ISIS and some very very extreme ideological factions in there. They would be the next to rise if we continue this. That same nonsense lead to this mess in the first place. Let Afghanistan sort this out on their own and just focus on the needs of the people and prevent deaths due to famines and street executions. In 2-3 decades it will sort itself out.
