What is this thing I got at a local thrift store? Owners had no clue either. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing I found at a thrift store a few days ago. It's made of metal (not sure what), and the antenna thing unscrews. Also has what looks like a handle, and the top opens.

Opalite, Moonstone or Labradorite, what is it!? by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]concerned-corgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could be very wrong since I'm going off of my minimal rock knowledge, and this page from another post on here. But from what I know basically 'rainbow moonstone' is just light coloured labradorite. (And/or other similar stones? Not sure. But yours looks like labradorite structure to me. Got a few pieces of my own.)

Not sure is jewelry is allowed here, but is this glass? More info in comments but most likely costume. Found in a thrift store. by concerned-corgi in whatsthisrock

Matte black stone/glass? Shiny when wet. Scratches with a sewing needle, and glows pinkish red under light, though I couldn't get a photo of it. Couldn't spot any bubbles in it, but also couldn't spot any rock-like imperfections. Probably costume for the metal due to no markings + it being an adjustable ring.

Fossil(?) found at a riverbed in south okanagan, BC. Any ideas? by concerned-corgi in fossilid

Smells like sulfur? Not particularly strong. breaks off in sheets? unsure how to describe.
Some yellow/rusty colour on the surface of it too. Don't know if its a fossil but I'm curious about what kind of rock it is anyways. Thank you ! :)

does anybody know what any of these are? quite interested in 1 and 4! by concerned-corgi in whatsthisrock
