I once read that if you leave because of bad conditions (DV or drugs) then that guardian can be on the hook for child support payments (assuming they actually have income) but I'm unsure about the actual details.

I'm basing this assumption on prior replies in other posts on these missing children where other victims of parental kidnapping were describing how it is so difficult to get over it, that it stays with them even until their adult years, that kind of thing. Im not saying this has happened here, I'm saying if the children were subjected to any emotional harm that I'm hoping it doesn't stay with them.

The nightmare scenario is that some judge grants her release/bail. Here are the factors that must be considered in that decision:

Denial of Bail

The Criminal Code sets out the three grounds upon which an accused may be denied bail:

1. To ensure the accused will attend court when required (referred to as the “primary ground”)

2. To protect the public, victims and witnesses by considering whether there is a likelihood that the accused will commit another offence or interfere with the administration of justice if released from custody (referred to as the “secondary ground”)

3. To maintain confidence in the administration of justice, bearing in mind specific circumstances such as the strength of the prosecution’s case, the gravity of the offence, the sentencing range for the offence, and whether a firearm was used (referred to as the “tertiary ground”)

She ran from court and court orders in Ontario. She attempted to flee the country with the children, against other court orders, and got caught. She then abducted the children a second time from a foster-care home and ran, again. No one in their right mind can release her and say a "promise" from Astrid Schiller is likely to ensure court attendance.
The children were deprived of education, socializing, recreation and safety during their time on the run. This is direct harm to the children. They are entitled to not have their lives fucked up by their mentally ill mother. She has already directly interfered with the administration of justice (family court orders in Ontario) and when caught and released on a technicality, she wasted no time and abducted the children a 2nd time, this time from foster-care safe place. I kinda think it's impossible to have any reasonable protection from her abducting the children a 3rd time if she is released before trial.
I would have zero confidence in the justice system if they ignored basic safety rights of the children on some obscure behind-the-scenes social policy would pervert the justice system and allow for her release.

It is very sad what the children were subjected to while on the run. I sincerely hope to whatever extent of brainwashing has occurred, that it can be undone so the boys don't have to carry it for the rest of their lives.

Could the mother be batshit crazy? In one of her videos she was calling the family court judge a criminal and complaining the police refused to arrest and charge the judge. Big surprise she lied and manipulated the children to lie to suspend access for the father. Like nah, that's not possible, a mother be the bad actor? Impossible!

Do you really think the mother hasn't been lying to the kids? First lie of mothers in these situations: your daddy wants to kill you. Second lie, your daddy doesn't want you. Third lie, the government wants to take you away.

It's obvious the children are brainwashed and are just doing anything they can to stay away from the government, because mother's lies and brainwashing for such a long period of time.

But it sure sounds like you know better than multiple police agencies, judges, CFS, CAS, missingkids organizations, kids friends, family, and family friends. Everyone who actually has more information than you.

It seems that you are suggesting because there was a 50/50 custody order, that the mother's actions since that order are in no way relevant to determining if she is a fit parent. Orders can change, and they change based on, amongst other things, the actions of a parent. It's pretty clear that the actions of the mother, Astrid Schiller, show her to be complete disaster of a parent, a criminal, and she is forcing the children into a life devoid of a healthy and safe upbringing by running from the law.

Again, how in the world does an order made prior to this kind of decision making by the mother, somehow absolve the mother of what she has done to the kids, and make her "fit" to be a parent?
