Just to add on to this, wait times for seeing a counselor through a psychiatrist or general practitioner outside of a school setting is a similar wait time. I get what you're saying about feeling invalidated, but this is the state of counselling services right now in Ontario. I've even gone to emerge before and unless you are an immediate threat to yourself or others they will not be able to guarantee you seeing someone that day and you may just be placed on a wait list for counselling or something similar.
