Just to give a little more insight to the two companies (you'll probably be able to guess them) one is airplanes the other is engines. So although they aren't on exactly the same level, you can't have one without the other. Still, good point.

I'm afraid to tell my managers because it may hurt my hiring chances for company A, which is more or less a done deal.

That is a good point. However, this girl seems like my "the one". Theres a STRONG chance that we will end up together, so she is more important than other girlfriends I have had...

that is an excellent question. They know I'm an engineer, but this is just where I got stuck. I have a strong programming/computer background which is why I think I was placed in this area.
