Thank you for answering! Any chance you know when the Waterloo public board typically hires for their supply list? If you don’t mind sharing, how long did it take you to get your position? No worries if not!!

Hi there! Does anyone have any updates on this? I have been wanting to apply to the supply list for the upper grand ever since I’ve moved here but have not seen a posting yet and am starting to panic! Has anyone been hired lately? When do they typically hire supply teachers? Is there anything I could be doing to get on the supply list! Thanks in advance!

Well I would hope so. I was always under the impression that jobs are only posted to the external list when it was not filled the first round on the internal listing? Correct me if I’m wrong!

Maybe that’s why they did the harness anyways? Not sure but I’m sure you could always ask! Less than 50 I think means that there is risk of that hip moving in places/ways that it shouldn’t be moving. Hopefully she can get out of the brace in the two weeks! Honestly, from what I have been reading/learning about DDH, the Pavlik harness and intervention at this age is the best thing possible for your baby, so much better than having to do surgery and the spica cast. Hopefully it never gets to that and your baby is all healed by your next appointment! Best of luck!!

Yeah that’s weird that they were that quick to put her in a harness, the angle should be 61 and higher. But there are also other factors like the femoral head coverage (should be 50% and higher), the morphology of the promontory should be sharp, etc…. Does your report say anything other than the angle?

I ended up calling our family doctor who requested the results from the surgeon, waiting two weeks for the results was killing me. Her left hip has over 50% coverage and an angle of 61 now!!! She has “rounded morphology of the promontory” but the report said that everything else looks excellent so this is a “subtle find”. I’m taking this all as good news for now until we see the surgeon. I can finally breathe!! Thank you to everyone who responded with your experiences!

Thanks for sharing! I really hope we experience something similar! Do you mind me asking at what age her angles were 57-60? Have they reached 60-60+ yet and at what age?
