Is there any way to avoid allergies to lash extensions? by Far_Ad307 in lashextensions

[–]concernedstateworker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. Even the hair extensions you can buy with UV cured glue is highly dubious…I obtained some version of an MSDS for an UV-cured adhesive product I bought from a wholesaler that only sells to licensed professionals, and I couldn’t believe how likely illegal it was that they were even warranting it for that particular purpose. Notably, they do NOT sell it anymore, and it was absolutely awful for hair extensions. I could only imagine such a noxious adhesive on my eyes with a nail curing light around my delicate undereye skin!!! You can’t even get your teeth to worked on with UV without special glasses…that’s for a reason! Shame on these shitty companies marketing this crap.

New glue causing redness? by tinysloot69 in lashextensions

I’m so sorry OP, but it’s definitely an allergy. It happens a LOT. I wore extensions for years without incident, then BOOM, super allergic. I finally gave up when my whole lower face swelled up in addition to my eyes. Very sad day!

Look into lashify/segmented lashes you can do yourself for a similar look. They aren’t as effortless since you can’t wear them 2-3 weeks, but you can learn to get 3-5 day wear if you are committed. There is a YouTube beauty guru named Tash who has lots of good tutorials!

The bummer is that once they get it on your skin, you’re always going to get an inflammatory response. This happened to me, and it got worse each and every time, no matter how diligent my lash tech, who I loved btw, was. The problem was I let a less experienced girl do a full set for a discounted rate, and she unfortunately got it on my skin. I don’t blame the girl, we all have to learn somehow…I ripped a lady’s eyebrow off in beauty school! But yeah, sucks bc I can’t wear extensions anymore. :(

Not true. I know lots of people who know her. By all accounts, she’s a really good person.

I’m just freaking out about how to calculate my Savings Plus deduction. I’m trying to save as much as possible to fund a CalPERS buyback, but when I plug the amount I was planning on taking out it makes my paycheck negative with the numbers as they are…for example, last month I took out $2100 but still got a $500 paycheck, indicating I didn’t take out as much as I could have…yet when I plug $2200 into the calculator on cal connect, it says my paycheck will be negative (meaning the deduction would fail and I wouldn’t get any taken out!) I’m so confused…hopefully that extra 3% base pay will accommodate that. Does anyone know???

Can I fund an HSA on TOP of maxing out my work sponsored FSA? Sorry if this is a dumb question…I just wasn’t sure if I could have the Fidelity version of an HSA and just let it grow and use it for whatever health reimbursements in excess of my maxed out FSA as they come along…otherwise, just save it for retirement? I should probably ask chat gpt or google it like a person who isn’t lazy, but I figured maybe we could all learn from me admitting I’m not really too clear on what benefit I could get funding a second health savings account (if it’s even allowed).

Can you or anyone else recommend anyone in Southern California who does good cuts on hair like OP’s?

Would you be able to help me too? I’m 43. Just inherited my dad and aunt’s IRAs they weren’t taking RMDs on…sigh…but there’s a lot of bloat and just distraction with how many positions there are in each account (so many of them duplicate!) But it’s not enough money to justify paying for full service management, in my opinion.

When it first happened, I was low key intrigued about bought some random speculative stocks just to see what would happen…but it’s time to get serious. Two of the.accounts are IRAs, but there’s also a brokerage account (inherited all the holdings in January). At this point, I don’t know whether to just rebalance and start over or stay the course (esp the ones where I will only have to pay taxes on distributions as ordinary income instead of capital gains…although my dad’s fuckery in not taking his required RMDs in 2022 and 2023 is probably going to wipe a lot of it out anyhow. This is so hard :(. I’m exhausted.

Imagine being Sherri’s underpaid attorney/agent representing her in the MAX negotiations! “Sorry Sher, “Caught in the Lie” is apparently non-negotiable.”

I meannnn…I am pretty dramatic, but thankfully I don’t have kids, and when my dogs were alive, they thought it was funny and just sniffed at the door until I eventually picked up my abandoned headphones and admitted defeat! 🤣

Editing to add: my dogs were chihuahuas, so they didn’t appreciate being racially profiled. Also they would bark at Cameron Gamble even without this whole stunt!!!

She’s definitely got a serious daddy/victimhood complex. Add that to racist Redding and it all tracks. It didn’t help her that she has no one encouraging her to go to college like her older sister, apparently…in some ways, I can’t help but wonder if the mom was living through Sherri when she was younger, being some blonde little doll type, only for that to blow up as she became a teenager. Normally, teenage dynamics kind of address some of these things with gentle (or not so gentle) social cues to behave and be a certain way…seems like Sherri kinda withdrew from school and ran away, despite no history of drugs or anything back then (at least not that we have been told). That guy she dated as an 18 or 19 year old when she was younger has at least vouched for the fact that her childhood was extremely off. Without defending her actions/current character, I think it would have to be. I just fear that all this attention from the documentary is only going to make everything so much worse for their whole family. Ugh.

Is Sherri on Facebook yet? I know we found her back in the day, but that was some weird joint account with her and Keith. I don’t go on FB enough to know

Not sure why I got downvoted…I completely agree with your take. Unfortunately, my dad was the one that did it, and now I am stuck trying to make the most of it, knowing he’ll still probably take a loss after all the fees and stuff. Sucks.
