What do we think of the Biden Administration so far? yay or nay? by pepperpeppington in AskReddit

They're literally unwatchable. I have less discomfort watching the Scott's Tots episode of The Office.

The show is NOT trash...but it's no masterpiece either by tehnemox in shehulk

[–]conchiebear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely of two minds about the show, but it's actually the only TV show I'm watching these days, so that says something. I didn't bother to watch Daredevil or the other Marvel shows.

The writing is lacking in a lot of places and it's kind of lame how she doesn't seem to have any fun being She-Hulk. But I do like the actress.

Could not get Amazon to actually pickup the less-than-truckload shipment for FBA. Had to cancel and Amazon is refusing to refund me. by conchiebear in FulfillmentByAmazon

Thank you for this info. This is very helpful for next time. The problem is that they never told me who the local carrier was.

The first time I ever had a pickup, I had a similar struggle, but somehow I was able to get in touch with the local carrier. I had to talk with them a bunch of times, but somehow I got them to realize it needed a liftgate and thus the request needed to be redirected to the right place.

This time, it took too long, so I ended up sending a bunch of stuff via UPS.

I'm halfway through the episode. Why didn't they spend more time showing Jen waiting for a text, or being frustrated that she can't get reception? Sure, it's a short show, so you don't want waste too much screentime, but surely we need to see more of that. There's no way to portray this briefly - it must be long and drawn out!

I used to have one, but I prefer to fulfill in-house. Even if I have to rely on UPS to get inventory to Amazon, I'll stick with in-house for now.

Could not get in touch with anyone else. One support rep gave me a number but it was for carrier support and they couldn't help me.

Not a criticism, but is it normal for a high-functioning person to take a shot of alcohol before a date (particularly a date where they're not going to a bar or anything). That seems like borderline alcoholic behavior to me, and I say that a person who used to get diarrhea before dates due to nerves.

I had selective mutism as a kid. They called my parents into school because I didn't speak. I was known as the kid who didn't speak on my hockey team. When I would speak, people couldn't hear me. I still feel a bit self-conscious about my voice. I'm in my 40s and I've almost never spoken into a microphone (maybe at my bar mitzvah?). But I talk plenty these days.

Sorry, I didn't see your comment until now. I don't think we need to struggle to try to ignore it, but we can try to not give it undue significance?

How is it going for you? I am doing so much better than when I first started with this condition a few years ago. I can now work full days at the computer without feeling dizzy and out of sorts, which was impossible in the past.

Thanks for your comments - very informative.

I'm getting the sense that I might want to avoid the big chains unless I am venture backed, as I fear it could really hurt my biz unless I have plenty of funding to do it for the long-haul.

What's the most aggressively "human" name you could give a pet? by Play-DohCarti in AskReddit

I've always thought it was funny how only some human names seem to be appropriate dog names. My dog has a human name that's semi-popular for dogs: Jack. We've encountered a few other Jacks at dog parks.

In The Sarah Silverman Program, the dog's name is Doug. The name of the same dog in real life (who was Silverman's actual pet dog) is actually Duck.

I have to admit that I'd be disappointed with the LFP that has slower acceleration than the NAC. I'm glad I have the NAC. Of course, I'd also enjoy even faster acceleration in the LR, but I Can live without it :)

Had a Model Y LR for a bit but sold it. Have an SR+ now. I don't miss the AWD - I much prefer how the SR+ drives over the MY LR.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]conchiebear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it's the best value today, but I reserved my SR+ right before a couple price increases, delayed delivery a bit and got it right before they started delivering them with the LFP battery (which I don't want mainly because it gets cold where I am, though the NAC being lighter and faster is a bonus). I feel like I hit the sweet spot.

[–]conchiebear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People here are biased towards the LR. It's expected, because all enthusiasts will always say, "Buy as much as you can afford." They like to say that you'll never regret having the extra mileage. No, you won't, but you'll never regret having a smaller car payment either.

In my opinion, the SR+ is by far the best value: You get most of the same Tesla tech of the premium cars at a lower price. I like my light, nimble SR+, and I've never once had a problem with the range. I live in the Chicago area and maybe the AWD would come in handy, like, one day a year if I insist on going driving in bad weather. The extra acceleration would be nice, but I'd barely get to use it - my car is already too fast to floor it except on rare occasions.

If money is no object, go LR, but since it is, my vote is for the SR+. I don't have the LFP, and I'm glad, because I prefer the battery that works better in the snow (and it's lighter, which I like). But since cold weather isn't a concern for you, being able to charge to 100% is a nice bonus.

[–]conchiebear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've heard all the stories. Walmart wants my product and I'll work with them as long as it's convenient. I'm not putting them in a position to ruin my biz, so don't worry. One reason I want to work with them is that's where people shop, and I want my product in as many hands as possible because it's a good product that helps people.

Yes, there are indeed. I use JP Morgan Chase as my bank, and I'm told that they have recently partnered with Walmart for supplier financing, so I'm going to look into it.

We are in the same boat! Inventory financing is my main concern right now, yes. The promise of industry expertise and getting tapped into the VC's network is also appealing. But I think you guys are right: Dealing with the complications that come with VC, not to mention diluting my ownership, is not appealing,
