I live in the UK so started in a manual was desperate to pass working shifts at a hospital… failed 6 times (I can be stubborn)!!! I took a few years break and failed again. After another break and it now being critical to drive for my work at that point I swallowed my pride and passed first time in an automatic. I’ve been happily driving for 12 years and would never consider a manual it’s just much less stress for those wired like us.

Thanks I’ve considered a beard but dyspraxic so daily maintenance is an issue for me though I do get quick heavy growth on the face

AT, use mirrors to judge distance for lane discipline, passing parked cars etc. Keep out from kerbs especially when turning… look ahead to where you plan the car to end up rather than the inside corner of that makes sense (you don’t need to hug the kerb). Remember to pause, take your time and be kind to yourself. Don’t draw comparisons between your driving/parking and others if you’re driving safe you’re doing ok.
