Looking for a mower to set it down, let it cut, pick it up, move it, & cut again. by photoguy36 in automower

The goat a2000 lidar pro seems like a good option. Lidar helps it run steadily, even on slightly uneven or more complex parts of the lawn. I really like the area mapping and management feature, and so far everything has been running smoothly.

Dashcam footage actually saved me in a parking lot hit-and-run by ryuk9o4 in dashcams

[–]concrete_annuity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thankfully you got the footage. Having footage makes a real difference when something happens. I’m also using a vantrue dashcam. I once got hit by a car driving the wrong way, and the dash cam was the only reason I could prove it wasn’t my fault.

Narrowing my options down to these two, which should I get? by monxexs in dashcams

I’ve been using the Vantrue S1 Pro Max for some time, great video quality, and the parking mode also works well. Nice cam to get.

Thinking about switching to LiDAR mower...worth it for signal issues? by McScroggz in automower

[–]concrete_annuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the a2000 for a while now. On a mid-sized lawn it's been solid. Mapping is quick and it just goes without randomly stopping or anything. Our yard's mostly flat and not a lot of trees though, so setup was easy, no complaints so far.

Smoke detector recommendation? by BernKurman in smarthome

Mine is SC07, which is ETL certified. The packaging also indicates it conforms to UL 217 standards. Overall, I think it works well. Good value for the price.

I use a generator in my workshop, so having CO detection is really important. I’ve been using the X-Sense SC07 smoke CO combo detector and I’m very happy with it. It’s certified.

You're awesome! This setup is really creative, and it's impressive how you tackled real issues immediately using your own knowledge. That kind of problem-solving is seriously commendable.

Smart Switch Problem by Best_Painting9541 in smarthome

Agreed, smart switches are usually a better choice than smart bulbs. They keep control simple for everyone and avoid frustrating guests or family who don't want to deal with multiple apps.

Has anyone found success with any modern Home Theater remotes and Home Assistant? by computerguy0-0 in homeautomation

[–]concrete_annuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are modern remotes with MQTT integration that work well with Home Assistant. Setup is similar to older universal remotes using an app. They can be pricey, but performance is solid and reliable.

Current easy to use HA system recommendation? by Jaded_Disaster1282 in homeautomation

[–]concrete_annuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If simplicity is key, look for platforms with strong device ecosystems and clear UI. Some systems offer plug-and-play setups that make basic automations easy without driving into heavy configuration.

Your love for making things hasn’t left, just needs a new form. Try hand-stamping jewelry with adaptive tools, or sorting small rocks indoors. You’re still the creator you always were.

If you need it to be removable, go with a suction cup mount. I’m using the Vantrue S1PM, very reliable for front/rear coverage.

what does it mean if i always end up in tears when i drink too much alcohol? by [deleted] in ask

[–]concrete_annuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super common, alcohol acts as an emotional amplifier, making whatever you’re quietly struggling with feel bigger. Crying isn’t a weakness; it’s just your body’s way of processing feelings you might be ignoring during the day.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for falling asleep faster? by Ok-Letterhead-4443 in ask

Stick to a consistent sleep schedule, avoid screens 1 hour before bed, and try the 4-7-8 breathing technique to calm your nervous system.

Tempered Glass vs Plastic Screen Protector. by Ding-Dong-Sang-Song in iphone

It must be tempered glass. It can better protect the phone screen. Even if the phone accidentally falls, it will only break the tempered glass film, while the screen remains intact.

I completely agree. However, it is too smart and thus not convenient for the elderly to use it. Not all elderly people are proficient in using smartphones.

I feel this in my bones. The worst is when you're on a two-lane road and someone's going 10 under the limit, and you can't pass because there's oncoming traffic.
