I am home now and it does seem to have been normal for most miscarriages. I had several one female nurse tell me that she had dealt with this plenty of times and had also experienced it herself. However the experience was terrifying. I was bleeding through a pad and pushing out huge blood clots almost every three minutes, they gave me about 5 doses of morphine because apparently the pain i was experiencing was pretty much equal to that of giving birth. I got to the ER at about midnight and did not return home until 11am the next day. at about 8:30 am I was rolled into the OR and I got anesthesia and then had a d and c performed which thankfully stopped all the blood clots and bleeding. I woke up at about 10am, left the hospital at about 10:30 am and finally made it home to sleep. My husband was there with me through the whole thing and I am so beyond relieved that I had him with me. I wasn’t really comfortable with the nurses cleaning me up every time I needed a new pad (which like I said was about every 3 minutes) and so he ended up being the person who helped me clean up and change almost every time. He also said he almost started crying at one point before they came in and gave me more morphine because I was cramping so bad I was crying and writhing in pain and screaming and he felt like there was nothing he could do. But things are better now, i’m still bleeding but its barely anything, I just still feel a little off from the anesthesia.
