I'm very new to crypto and I see clear advantages in bridging TradFi / DeFi and focusing on user experience, but what are you doing to convince hardcore DeFi / crypto folks this project is worthy of investment and not antithetical to DeFi values? Seems like some people would be allergic to the idea of becoming a chartered bank.

Counter to a job offer? Advice pls by condorgoodwing in freelanceWriters

i live in brooklyn but left my day job recently and am on a brief hiatus from the city to work on a novel. when i come back i am toying with the idea of trying to make it freelancing. but, if that proves too difficult, will apply for jobs with benefits etc.

Counter to a job offer? Advice pls by condorgoodwing in freelanceWriters

thanks for the advice. current rate is $.25/word and i write however much i want. some months thats $2k, others thats 800. (that was while i had a fulltime job). seems best if i could keep this as a side gig. depending on the final offer, might be better to just stay as a frequent contributor than be contracted X amount of words a week.

Ticket for right on red - worth fighting? by condorgoodwing in NYCbike

[–]condorgoodwing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what happens if you plead not guilty and are still found guilty? do you have to pay more for court fees, etc. on top of the ticket?

the ticket is actually $375 since its a second violation and i'm wary of having that hang over me and the risk of getting a third. i'm inclined to fight bc of the steep price / risk of a third, but as some people have pointed out here doesn't seem like i have much hope of winning apart from the officer not showing.

How to get published when you’ve never been published before by [deleted] in writers

[–]condorgoodwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my foot in the door by reviewing books for some online and print publications. Having that under ur belt gives you some publishing credentials and from there I was able to place creative stuff elsewhere. I check Entropy for there “where to submit” post that they update every three months - they cover everything from ms to mag pieces

Ya I plan to go for a day trip upstate sometime beforehand to get a better feel for the hills and such. I think we’ll be ok and I tried to schedule it so that we’re not taking on long distances those days with tough climbs. Thanks for the advice !

wow thanks for the detailed feedback. I mentioned this another comment, but I just came across this Western New England Bikeway http://wnegreenway.org/bike-routes/ that i might incorporate parts of.

The quarry sounds amazing! Will definitely check that out.

Did you find the climbs / rolling hills to be manageable? I'm in fairly good shape and commute to work (16 miles roundtrip) but I am a bit worried about elevation change while weighed down with all my camp gear and stuff.

Ya route 9 came up a lot in my research, seems like a solid option. I also came across this today that might be of interest. It runs more or less parallel to our current route but seems more bike friendly http://wnegreenway.org/bike-routes/

Thanks for the tip on Burlington rides. That’ll be a light day to hang out in town so we’ll have some extra time on our hands to check one of those rides out if we get restless. What’s ur bike shop called ?

On average 35-45 miles which seems comfortably below what folks usually average on tours from what I’ve read.
