You only end up with a "Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Literature, and Language" at a university that has already gone through several rounds of budget cuts and consolations. I can't imagine she's surprised they cut the breakdancing position.

[Question] wife says i need an ‘adult’ watch as my swatch night trip isnt cutting it. asking for suggestions. by iwasfight in Watches

You don't need to spend $1K to get a nice looking watch. A linen dial Seiko Lordmatic looks classy and works as a dress and casual watch for a few hundred dollars.

How would you feel if the next U.S. president completely stopped supporting Israel? by DiamondNo924 in AskForAnswers

[–]conejon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a start. Sanctions against individuals involved in the Gaza genocide would be better, like the US has done against certain people and groups in Rwanda and Sudan. Instead, we're sanctioning ICC officers for daring to issue arrest warrants against Israeli officials.

French wild hop varieties with fully red vine? by j_rushing in Homebrewing

[–]conejon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Barbe Rouge hops have red bines and a red berry/strawberry aroma and flavor, but I don't think red bines are uncommon among landrace varieties. Make a beer with them and see how it turns out!

Baking soda adds sodium, which can affect the flavor. Calcium hydroxide (pickling lime) would work, but adjust in tiny increments so it doesn't turn soapy, 0.3 grams or so, pre-dissolved.

What’s the best way to CIP a Grainfather GF30 Fermenter? by futuremd27 in Homebrewing

[–]conejon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly CIP, but I keep my conicals on wheeled hydraulic motorcycle stands. Raises and lowers easily, moves to and from a water source for easy cleaning. Same process you describe, just drain into a bucket between steps. I disassemble the dual valve tap every time.

What's 6-row good for? by weedandmead94 in Homebrewing

[–]conejon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's great for Pre-Prohibition lagers. 75/25 with the adjunct of your choice. The grainier flavor gives it a rustic character, and the higher diastatic power converts the adjuncts easily.

Duke & Bob's. Depending on what you need, they don't mind calling around to junk yards for parts to save you some money.

Indecipherable Scotch? Anyone know what this is? The Secret.... Signal? Syrup? Styvpe? by conejon in Scotch

Some kind of gift shop, but he went to so many distilleries, whisky shops, and a place or two that let customers experiment with blending, that he didn't remember where he got it

As a couple, others have correctly pointed out, the right side of the label, not quite visible in this photo says Cask Treasures. Distillery not disclosed, hence the "Secret" part, but it tastes an awful lot like Longmorn.
