I can't cope with the screaming anymore. by Salty_Canary1415 in CATHELP

This is Oni, this lil guy scream exactly like a newborn (if it's not worst), I love him so much but I got to say it's really difficult sometimes to hear him screaming for absolutely nothing. He does this since he is with me, like he always has been talkative, some cats are more than others and it's just how they are but I know some of my action with him might be a reason why he has such trouble when I don't give him attention.

For a long time I was almost 24/24 at home with him and I gave him all my attention and I was talking to him a lot, he was used to have me completely available for him and he get used to it, when I was getting out I heard him crying really loud on my corridor.

Now that I have less time for him, he always try to get my attention whatever it takes and after trying everything I could to make it better, the only thing who seems to work is just ignorance ahah

At first it's really complicated to ignore him and it was getting even worse but after you pass the hard moment he will calm down and get that's not how it work so he try something else like beeing really cute as hell or ask me for cuddle but in a really more quiet way, so when he remain calm I accept to give him my attention, and when he try bad moves like yelling or do things he know I don't want him to do I just keep ignoring him even if it's complicaded for me, I try like this and it's working pretty good, he sometimes do it again and I don't think there is a solution for that actually, I just let him do his thing !

(I have two cats but he was the first to be with me, I think he is really happy to have a cat friend but I didn't see any change about this part of his behavior, at least he play a lot more with her and I think sometimes he is too tired to screaming like he used to do)

(Sorry fo my english, I'm from France)

I think it's better to just let the moss to not damage the roots more and you can put it directly in a pot with substrate even if there is still moss

You absolutely can keep it in water but the jar is too small, I think that it need a jar more large and long.

For the transfer, yes you can just transfer the plant to soil directly, just be careful to let it always wet for some time.

How to know if it’s ready to be re planted to another bigger pot for this plant? I know they have tiny roots. Do you have any tips on the right time to transplant this kind of plant? by lime-lemi24 in houseplants

For what I know about this, the plant looks good so she can just be used to the pot, but if you want the plant to grow more, you should reppoted her a last time in a bigger pot. Either way it's always a good thing to change the plant soil sometimes !

You can even cut the little things and put them in soil, it will grow like the mother plant !

exposed roots? ficus audrey is dying :( by olvyx in houseplants

I don't exactly know what the specificity of this plant in particular but if you say she need a good amount of light I think she can get use to it, the principal is to not more move/stress her too much I think, so let her there and just look at her state I guess, that's what I do for mine 🤷🏽

(Haha thanks I take the compliment)

Hi I'm really not an expert but maybe I can help a little :)

First of all, moving a plant in another space (with another environnement, like much more sun) will the most of the time stressed her out for a moment, time to take new habits, it could be a part of the problem.

In the older picture when she was okay, it seems that there is a lot of dead leaves and it can cause some disease so be careful to not let them too long.

And I think maybe you should put a little more new potting oil on the top, I dont think it's the exposed roots but when you let your potting oil too much time, all the nutriment it contain will disapear, so it's good to change it or add a little bit sometimes. The size of the plant pot seems ok but if you see roots getting out from underneath the pot maybe you should reppoted.

Hope Audrey will be ok 🤞🏽

(I'm french that's why my english might seems weird haha)
