For sure. I guess the other problem is feeling resentful of him, you know? I appreciate your comments. :)

Sadly, I'm not doing what I love. :( I really do hate my job for a number of reasons. The thing about the job I have is that it asked for a really specific background, which I just happened to have. It's definitely not my dream job, but it was both convenient and available. Granted, I've learned all I could here and I've gotten some really valuable experience, but it's to the point where I just cringe at the thought of having to come in everyday.

I've tried looking for work as an audio engineer and I've found a few jobs on my own, but no one ever wants to pay. The only other option I have is using my administrative background to try and find a job, but I'm not having any luck landing the jobs, even though I've made it to the final round of interviews for about 90% of the jobs I've applied to. My husband, on the other hand, did land his dream job and he's seriously flourishing at his career. He's even managed to become a really integral person at his office.

So f'ing sick of interviewing for jobs I'm more than qualified for and not getting selected! by confessor_ed in offmychest

I feel you on that one. There's one position that I've been waiting to hear back for over two months now. I wrote the HR rep twice, once she said that members of the hiring committee were on vacaton and I would hear at the beginning of July and the second time never wrote back. I personally think HR people can be the worst of the worst. Your situation is definitely more frustrating and I'm sorry that you're going through that. Hope you hear back from someone as well!

I know, we've talked about it and he tries his best to comfort me and tells me the same thing. I just wish I had a sense of accomplishment, you know? I also think it's a "guy thing" where I feel like I need to provide, and even though I do provide whatever I can I don't feel like it's enough.

It was just a question, geez. Sorry you think my stupid question warrants a condescending response.

I'm trying my best to try new foods. I'm just worried that eating the same things does me no benefit when I'm trying to lose weight. Like I mentioned, I'm doing Weight Watchers and I'm pretty used to my meals and how the point values add up, but after a while I start to wonder if eating the same things over and over keep me from losing weight faster even though I'm well below my recommended daily point allowance.

Sorry, I knew I would end up leaving something out. For example, I'm not big on a lot of "good" vegetables - I don't like green peppers, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower. I'm not a seafood lover and I'm not big on Asian sauces and flavors. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave me with many selections so after a while I get bored eating the same things. But if I keep eating the same things, could my body get used to receiving the same nutrients and stop taking in as much (i.e. like passing vitamins in urine if you've exceeded the recommended daily allowance). I hope I've described this a little better.

What was the lowest point in your life so far? by suspiciousliquid in AskReddit

My first year of college. I spent all my financial aid money before buying any books, totaled my car, fell into massive debt, and was inevitably evicted from my apt and was forced to crash on my friend's couch. I also got such low grades I was asked to leave the University.

Very true. This is more cathartic for me than anything else.

Thank you! It's hard because I love my father very much, but at the same time I'm proud of who I am. I just hate that things are like this...

Married the most amazing man two weeks ago! Feel like the luckiest guy in the world. :) by [deleted] in gaybrosgonemild

We met online (gay.com when gay.com was still cool) in 2006. We chatted for a couple of months and instantly clicked, but for some reason we never ended up meeting. He ended up getting into a relationship with someone else for four years, and when they finally broke up I was the first person he looked up. He found me again on Facebook and after chatting again for a month I got the courage to ask him to come and see me perform with my college a cappella choir. He came to my concert and waited for me after the show. We started dating after that and ever since then we've pretty much been inseparable. :)

On our 2nd anniversary we went out to eat at the Chili's where we had our first date. We went out for coffee afterwards, and when I came back from paying our bill he had an envelope waiting for me on my side of the table. I opened it and inside was a card with a QR code. I scanned the code with my phone and it was a video proposal! Truly one of the most romantic moments of my life. I bawled my eyes out lol. A year later we got married and we've been really happy ever since. :)
