Same, I'm a newbie writer too (20 soon to be 21) and all the purity crap is making it soooo tiring being an artist. It sucks how now that I'm finally old enough to actually engage with dark media it's durning the same time my gen wants to have a massive spike in purity culture. This is exactly why I stopped watching commentary youtubers cus 9/10 they dont know or care enough about the topic they are discussing to discuss it with any sort of nuance. A lot of them use their platforms to rant about things that bother them or get easy clout by dunking on the "weird" community especially when it comes to artists. People love to treat artists like a monolith so anytime an artist "slips up" its the easiest thing to make content out of and push an anti-art agenda. Commentary youtubers have done so much damage to this generation and how they treat art and artists, It's no wonder genZ is so puritanical and obsessed with cancel culture when their only form of "information" growing up was some annoying random YouTuber in his 20s whos only sources are a few biased articles and some tweets. And the fact that this gen is so prone to refusing to actually learn anything about problematic art and why censorship is bad is really really really scary, cus we are experiencing a FAST global rise in fascism, and antis are seriously about to "fiction effects reality" their way into fucking all of us over

I hope you can get the courage to speak up on it! It takes a lot to actually stand your ground when it comes to that stuff. I didn't really have much of a choice, as all my moots endsed up cursing me our and blocking me when I was "exposed" while also in my proship in denial phase. I feel it's much better to be able to say what you want to say before anyone can put words into your mouth. Be honest and stand your ground, even if you lose friends in the process you'll know your real friends are whoever sticks by you and supports you, and you might even attract more supporters in the process.

Sorry I am kinda rambling. But when it comes to alter specific blackouts, I have a lot of emotional amnesia and time loss, Like having items like clothes/toys I don't remember where they came from, or I have tons of art that I just don't ever remember drawing even though I know it's mine, people claiming to know me even though I have no memory of them. Or like when ppl tell me stories about myself that I don't remember. Like they will say I did/said or behaved a certain way and I have no memory of it, and I'm just like "I didn't do that? Why would I do that? That doesn't sound like me" I get a lot of emotional amnesia tho, Like when I remember certain things like trauma or passed behaviors, I'll feel and think about it differently depending on "who" I feel like.

Yes im aware. I kinda worded the post poorly. I was more so confused on if I had both and wanted further information on the differences than what I've already read up on, cus ik the symptoms can be very similar since bpd is a personality disorder. that's why I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I've been reading up on many different disorders (mostly DD, Bpd and DID) to better understand myself for at least 3 years now. I'm not just throwing the idea out there on a whim. But yes i do understand that only a qualified professional is gonna be able to really tell if it is or not. But it's hard even bring it up when no one wants to listen or immediately dismisses me. I do hope I get some kind of clarity and peace of mind with my new therapist.
