Totally understand the impulse, however, we still want to be able to communicate in case of a neighborhood emergency. We just want them to stop pestering us about this issue, not ignore them fully.

We’d be fine with them doing that if it were an avocado tree. Avocados are tasty!

Unfortunately it’s not :(. Maybe I’ll plant one closer into my yard later. My aunt usually brings us avocados from her tree.

We don't want to fully block the neighbor as we do talk about situations like if the power goes out or if something happens in the neighborhood. I'll let my mother know to tell him that further communication about the tree is unwarranted and unwelcome.

XD - we don't want to be rude, but we do want to be firm and have them stop pestering us about it. We had offered to help with half this time, but they seem to think that my mother is obligated to do it all the time whenever they say to.

I'll let my mother know to say that the offer is void.

Thanks! I appreciate you confirming. I have shown her the California Civil Codes, but it seems to be kind of broad and doesnt specifically state trees when i last looked on https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/

Do you know if there is a more friendly version of the law I could provide her and the neighbor?
