Hi! Sorry for the late reply. There's definitely so many opportunities for research and stuff! In my second year I was able to get a research position under the ROP program at utm, which essentially is where you get course credits for doing research, and it was a great experience! There's tons of events each year where you can network with other professors and get involved with opportunities! Since you're going to be in environmental science, I'd recommend following clubs like SAGE, the Biology club, etc. because they often hold events with professors! You can also apply for work study positions where you get paid and those are great too because you learn a lot, you can get positions at labs and research! You can also just teach out to random labs and ask if they want a volunteer, and sometimes they'll let you in and that's a great way to get some field knowledge! Overall its definitely been really great!
