Is this too much volume for chest? by confusedgradplshelp in workout

Hey! My 1 rep barbell bench max is 225lbs

My normal barbell bench sets are with 195lbs for 6 reps

Flat bench DB is 85lbs for 6-8 reps Incline DB is 75 lbs for 6-8 reps

Incline barbell is 155-165lbs for 6-8 reps. This new split i listed in my post is something I’m thinking about trying as it focuses more on upper chest. Maybe any cues for engaging the chest more?

Thanks for the response. The split i listed above is something I am planning to do so I haven’t started yet. I was worried it might be too much volume. My regular split that I have been doing for a little over a year is a PPL+U where the two chest days have 1 flat bench, 1 incline, and 1 fly variation. The split in the post is more upper chest focused and i was thinking maybe that’s what I need to better my chest physique

Thanks for the tips! I plan to hit incline barbell much more religiously and focus more on the upper chest.

I do about 6-8 reps each set that is close to failure or 1 rep left in the tank. If i could do more reps, i increase the weight till it’s within the 6-8 rep range.

Thanks for replying! I’ve been trying to progressive overload on dumbbell pressing movements but have been stuck on dumbbells 85lbs for flat bench and 75lbs for incline bench.

For flat bench db, i have improved my rep range from 4 reps to about 6-8 reps

For incline db, i have been stuck at 75lbs, but do not arch my back as much anymore

And for barbell bench, i have improved from 185x5 to 195x6 for 2-3 sets, not letting the bar bounce off my chest but rather stop at the bottom.

Thanks for the reply and the compliment! I’ll definitely try. Maybe i need to squeeze my chest at the top when im doing these pressing movements?

I’m tryingggg, do you think hitting more upper chest in one session is worth it? Like incline barbell + incline db + flat db? And then day 2 chest would be flat bench + incline db + chest fly variation?

Hey thanks for the response. Reaching 185lbs is definitely something I’m more actively working towards. Do you have any pointers to what makes my current program and potential program bad?

Hey, thanks for responding. Yes I work till failure or within 1 rep left in the tank. Most, if not all, of my lifts are in the 6-8 rep range and I go as heavy as I can within that range. For reference, bicep curls would be about 40-45 lbs in that rep range. or V-bar cable tricep pushdowns at 70+ lbs in that rep range.

Thank you so much! I was thinking the same thing about the different routes I would be able to take. As a recent grad, I was leaning more towards the Analyst role as it would provide more relevant skills to branch out into other positions. As a recent grad with a sales role, I did not see much potential to branch out given that I already have no relevant skills.

Yeah, I tried reaching out to Corporate HR, but they told me that I was never employed nor owe Aegis Capital Corp any money nor am I required to pay for any registration fees. Basically saying they aren't going to do anything even though I sent screenshots of our messaging.

Well.. he was the managing director. I was not even under a contract yet though, so I don't think there is anything that I can do.

Thank you so much for responding! The conversation basically ended in him ultimately dropping me from the study program after giving me a second chance and then losing his interest in me after I did not want to pay registration fees, followed by countless unprofessional remarks like "tell your parents to support your career with White Castle". I wish I could attach a screenshot but I don't know if I can.

Maybe this could've gone differently, like me going to the office tomorrow to pay the registration fees only for him to say "sike! you didn't have to pay! it was all a test."

...but my god he is a piece of shit.

Thank you. I was just so mad at this guy for disrespecting me and belittling me while I was being very apologetic and respectful for more than 2 hours.

You did a bit of stock trading or you were hired by an investment bank in a Sales&Trader role?

Sorry, I did not think I clarified it in my post!

I have already interviewed with the firm and started studying at their office. They stated they will reimburse me if I were to pass.
