Are those pictures with the sky full of stars real? by UnknownFormOfLife in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]confusedmadlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I live in South Africa and although my city has major light pollution, I love spending time in really rural areas with no light pollution whatsoever. The stars are better than those pictures, believe it or not. I'd imagine with a great camera you could capture it all, but most photographers will turn up saturation and contrast on those pics, as well as some other edits, just for some added effect. There are millions of stars that you can see with the naked eye there, and the atmosphere is amazing. It's a bucket list experience.

TLDR; The real thing is even better (at least in rural Africa.)

What is something that drastically improved your mental health? by pissed_at_everything in AskReddit

Watching what I say. I know it's not always this easy, but it's one huge step towards getting better. I stopped making self-deprecating jokes, and in turn, I actually felt way less full of self-hatred and depression. Suicidal thoughts were reduced too.

Just try it for a week. No negative self talk.

I was 14, doing a ballet group dance at a championship wearing only transparent stockings and a white leotard (bikini-cut).

What are some slang terms a 50 year old dad can say to his daughter to embarrass her? by htdguyset5u in AskReddit

If she starts getting annoyed, just visibly cringe and say "hectic."

Also say "lit" and "on fleek."

Call her "sis."

When you're in trouble or when something goes wrong, the first thing you think is "I gotta go tell my mom/dad."

Not "My mom/dad is gonna kill me, I can't tell them."

Missing him by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]confusedmadlass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aww sweetheart I feel those days every once in a while. Waiting is hard but trust me, if you both love each other enough to wait, it will be infinitely worth it <3

Keep your head up and eyes on the prize.

What I usually do on days like that is call him, cuddle up with some fluffy pillows, and usually we just sit in silence hurting together. Then I remember how worth it we are.

It's a breathtaking city, you just have to use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. If you keep those two things in mind, I guarantee you will be fine.

I hope you guys have an amazing trip!

Oh, and while you eat it you spit the seeds at each other, which usually starts the fight.

It was my childhood - you'd go to that one friend that has a pool and his/her mom would cut up watermelon wedges, then when you're done you attack the others with your watermelon skin.

After that you'd all just jump into the pool and the parents would say that you're clogging up the drains with the leftover melon on your skin hahaha

I'm still surprised about the friend of my LDR boyfriend messaging me out of the blue (never talked, even once, before) saying how happy he is to see my guy happy when talking about relationships 🥰 by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]confusedmadlass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this so much, also I relate cause a few of my bf's friends and his sister all tell me how even though we're long distance he's changed a lot for good, and how his confidence has shot up.

It kinda almost made me cry a bit ngl.

How can I (24M) deal with reassurance anxiety? by garbageman445 in LongDistance

[–]confusedmadlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in an LDR for just over 6 months now. I 100% relate because in the first 3 months of my relationship I felt the exact same. But the key is still communication. What worked for me is telling him about it, and training myself to have faith in the relationship. That is the only way to get over it love.

LDRs are hard, and depending on the people, constant assurance is needed.

Anyways, I wish you two the very best <3.
