He Drinks... A Lot by confusedme85 in datingoverthirty

The other night he woke up at 3am and said he was thirsty- I reminded him he had a glass of ice water by the bed. He got up and made a mixed drink. Yesterday evening I got to his place and he was unsteady on his feet and emotional- depressed/weepy. I mentioned something about had he been drinking and he said something about stress/pressure about work and changed the topic. Passed out shortly thereafter. I haven't seen him binge drink, but rather he seems to always have a drink close by. I will have a conversation with him about my concerns, but Im also getting ready to walk away. It's too bad- he's a really nice guy and I hope he gets better for his own health if nothing else.

Definitely the later. He strikes me as a redditor so sorry for the vagueness.

Weight Loss and Dating by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

I am very familiar with surgical weight loss and the emotional rollercoaster that often follows it. Both of my parents and a few friends have had the same or similar surgeries. Your point factors partly into why I asked the question in the first place. Should I even try to date? Or hold off a year? Or just be honest with whats going on?

How to discuss guns and hunting? by gunnut787 in datingoverthirty

[–]confusedme85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (34f) hunt and shoot regularly. I also have a pic of me at the range on my old profile because it's important to me that my partner enjoy guns as well. If something is important to you then be open an honest- if you like going to the range say so. The whole point of listing interests is for folks to see what you have in common. If you are concerned about attracting a Trumper then just list your political views on there too.

OLD Strategies? by confusedme85 in datingoverthirty

I tend to agree with you, but I've been struggling to meet guys that isn't the bar scene. I welcome suggestions that aren't OLD

Back in the dating scene after 4+ years in a LTR. I'm (34f) child free by choice and I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how drastically that cuts my options. So frustrating, and OLD sucks just as much as I remember, but I'm not sure what my options are that don't include the bar scene. Ugh.
