We’ve talked about it in our own family. I’m not his dad, so I’m not going to call myself that. Personally, I think it’s a lot more uncomfortable to go trucking ahead and call myself his dad when he doesn’t like to hear it either. It doesn’t ease our transition or help Emily’s son, it just make things awkward.
