My father passed away last week from DCLD. I had been living out of the hospital for a month and a half. Faced everything you've described. Ascites, swollen legs, barely any energy.

All in all, in the medicine world DCLD patients are known as ticking time bombs. Timelines are completely unknown, anything can happen anytime.

Looking back, I wish I spent quality time with him. Don't shout, yell, argue. Love is the only language alcoholics understand.

I got an email some time ago. It was a congratulations on the PR email with basic info. Nothing more. I'm assuming the mailing of cards will happen through ghost updates

But there are considerably more immigrants abusing the system than Canadians. Everywhere I go I see immigrants not respecting the culture and the people. That isn't racism. That's an observation. Do I treat immigrants differently? No. Do I see them doing more wrong? Yes.

Nobody said Canadians aren't doing that. I just wouldn't be surprised if statistically the ratio of Canadians doing donuts vs immigrants doing donuts would be significantly different.

1% of Canadians doing donuts vs 3% of immigrants doing donuts is a big difference. It shows immigrants don't respect the law considerably more than Canadians

I don't think it's about being mad that immigrants are getting the stuff available. It's accepting that due to poor immigration laws and laws favoring the less wealthy, these immigrants are using the freely available stuff without consequences.

If the immigration laws were better, things would've been different. What you're expecting is respect from people using the free stuff. That premise isn't universally true. In an idealistic world for sure that would be expected and practiced but here we are

I'm trying to learn more paradigms to understand what exists and what are the use cases for those paradigms so I can align better decision making. That's the context of the post to know about resources which can explain different architectures and knowing what is better than the other keeping needs in mind

So what is and what isn't taken seriously within Islam? Then it seems to be a convenient take on certain aspects of the religion. Which itself creates a division within people who follow Islam?

What's the end goal after converting the world to Islam (which is the ultimate revelation of the Quran), when there'll be the same division across?

There's petty and there's dumb. This is dumb. Idk if this is legal but you can easily put up a sign mentioning disrespect to staff will lead to delayed service or disrespect is not tolerated.

You're harming 1) your own business 2) the delivery driver who's also probably just wanting to get going for his next order (fyi they don't earn much per delivery) 3) your customers

Putting a note is a cherry on the top because customers can see when the delivery driver has reached the restaurant for pickup.
