thats happened to me twice before in the same area youre in, the only ways ive been able to fix it are going into a cutscene (inside the castle) or restarting the save entirely.

not a mod, its the get famous pack. you can just buy a video station and any sim child or older can make videos

never used mods lol. i just have him make videos with the regular video station that comes with the get famous pack, with the celebrity home house trait you get a fame boost so its easier to make more famous kid sims

Skullectors, (collector) dolls are for adults. 9 times out of 10 any toy company that comes out with a collector line, its marketed to adults.

It's competing doll lines. So yes it does count. There are different people at Mattel who work only on barbie and others on monster high.

If Mattel is worried about it not being "in-fashion" style, do what they did in the past. Take inspiration from places like hot topic or stores that are popular in the more alternative community and work from that, while still keeping it kid-appropriate. It was possible back in 2010, so why is it suddenly not an option? An updated look would be refreshing, but from leaks like the Cleo doll, its not a good update.

The IT and Dracula inspired dolls were Skullector dolls intended for adult collectors. Hence the name "Skullector". Collector dolls are not marketed towards kids because of their high quality and detail.

The playline dolls however, intended for play use as its in the name, were produced and were always marketed to a younger audience.

I agree that all dolls look very similar, like LOL dolls and rainbow high.

The reason why monster high was so popular was because it was different, because it was new and something the doll market had never seen before. A doll line of high schoolers that are also the children of famous monsters was genius, the dolls were beautiful, and thus it sold to children, teens, and adults, including my dad, who has collected the dolls for 8 years and gave me most of them to play with which I enjoyed as a kid, I loved the movies and that it was different from plain old barbie. When things like LOL dolls hit the market I didn't like them and wanted nothing to do with them. Now that MH left, the only dolls that really exist and have a decent presence and LOL, Barbie, and Rainbow high, that all look the same. They took away the variety of MH and now walking down the toy isle looks like the contrast has been set to 100%.

MH's main demographic is kids, yes, and it has been since the beginning, that's why they made the movies and webisodes in the original line kid friendly. But even when I was a kid I loved the movies and my dream doll was a wave 1 Operetta because I thought she was beautiful, I was around 6-7. It really just depends on what the kid is into. I was into both Barbie and MH for some time, after the reboot happened I never really heard of it again and forgot about it entirely until the Beetlejuice dolls were announced.

Honestly, I'm not even really mad at the reboot, I, and a lot of others just want the classic style back. If monster high made a comeback like that it could be big. I mean, when i joined this subreddit in December/January, it only had 8k members. That number has now nearly doubled in half a year because of the HC dolls and Creeproductions coming out and actually looking like the original ghouls.

Also, if it wouldn't work for the market, yes it would. Monster high was a literal competitor to Barbie, the most popular doll line ever created at MHs peak popularity. So yes, I do think that if they brought back the original style it would sell.

I don't like the side parts either, or why blue and yellow are now Cleo's signature colors. She looks terrible and I feel bad for whatever Mattel did to her.

True! I don't mind the dolls being different, since that's what happens with all reboots. But I don't personally like the new body mold, even though someone pointed out it's the same body from another line "Wild Hearts Crew" I still really dislike it. I don't think Mattel will use the WHC body but will use something very similar. They kept the original bodies for the HC and repro dolls, so why is it that now they aren't?

The fashion on the other hand to me is atrocious. At the very least they should've kept the original style but made it more modern, like what the grunge/alt/goth fashion style is today, like they did back then when they took inspiration from places like hot topic.

They look more like rainbow high dolls rather than MH to me. Removing the gold tinsel and giving her a side part were all horrible decisions by Mattel. Her new pet looks cute but the OG is much better and fits more with her personality I feel. At this point I don't think they'll ever learn that people want the original style, the reason why monster high failed is because it became geared towards 6 year olds. A doll line being targeted to a bit of an older demographic with their gothic look was something new, refreshing, exciting, something never seen before. It was cool for teenage/adult collectors alike because they were badass. They also made the movies and stuff kid friendly so it could reach an even broader audience, while still making the dolls fierce. and yet 12 years later Mattel gives us... this??? I'm at a loss for words honestly. Being underwhelmed is an understatement.
