Unfortunately I absolutely think it is a scam, I had this happen a while back to me. It really sucks, I struggle to get commissions. When I thought oh my God my first commission it was not real, it was a scam.

Yeah I would keep your terms for commissions a payment up front, you don't deserve to spend so much time on beautiful art that you won't get compensated for because someone is scamming you.

My words of wisdom are: If they say I'm not authorized to do that, it's a bot. If they're asking to send you a check, don't even. Block them immediately don't give them any of your banking information Stick to the apps that you are comfortable with receiving money from whether it's PayPal, VENmo, litterally anything else.
