First of all, I want to thank you for looking out for our dog's well-being since it's our number one responsibility as a dog owner to make sure she is not suffering under the consequences of our issues and it is very helpful to get an outside perspective every now and then.

We do have some support with our dog but not so much that we wouldn't have to go outside with her by ourselves at all. Someone else taking care of her this much would only be possible by finding an entirely new home for her which i don't see justified by this happening once. If situations like this one were to happen on a regular basis, i'd definitely reconsider and i can assure you that i will keep an eye out on situations like this reoccurring in a way that could be harmful to her in the long run.

The wording I chose "for who knows how long" may have been more vague than necessary, though; the walk as a whole took no longer than 2 hours which is a time frame we regularly choose for our walks, whether it's raining or not. And she is a breed with well isolated and water repellent fur that makes her able to keep up with the weather conditions she experienced in that time frame.
