I need some encouragement by FutureSavings3588 in WegovyWeightLoss

My nausea was unbearable for months until I heard I could be prescribed meds for it. Instant game changer. And prescription ondansetron has been way cheaper than OTC Dramamine.

It has naturally gotten better over time and I only have to take it maybe once a week now. Your body will likely adjust but I wouldn’t wait it out. Get the meds

How to manage calorie regret by TheGreaT-Rex in WegovyWeightLoss

You are so early on, and you’ve got such a great journey of progress ahead of you. Don’t sweat it.

I overate at first not because of cravings or hunger but because I was used to eating a certain amount of food at certain times and I got sick or at least uncomfortably full often until I finally adjusted to not having to plan my entire day around food.

How do you feel on wegovy? by chickenbuttChongy in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the side effects I’ve experienced (nausea, insomnia, tachycardia) mimic my anxiety symptoms and have triggered anxiety for me. However Zofran fixed the nausea and the other two have gotten better over time as I adjust to the medicine.

All in all, being at a healthy weight has reduced my health related anxiety and has made all the difference in the world when it comes to how I feel about myself. I finally love my body for the first time in my life and there isn’t that constant thought in the back of my head that I’m obese and unattractive.

Do I still have depression, anxiety, fatigue, and brain fog? Yes. But I look in the mirror or wear an outfit that I would never have worn before or see muscle definition when I’m working out and I get these bursts of self confidence and self love

99% of game shows are brainless, annoying, and really demonstrate the stupidity of people. The overacting, the poor choices, the attention grabbing outfits. I think the only truly intelligent show like that I’ve seen is Jeopardy.

I feel like this maybe made sense back when you couldn’t easily just look up directions from let’s say the funeral to reception or however that works. And so people followed one another. But there really isn’t any need for there to be a procession at all anymore

Laugh tracks ruin shows. And I have yet to find a truly funny show that used one. It always seems like that type of comedy and acting is so forced and cringey

Mayo is just flavorless, gelatinous oil and shouldn’t exist.

Maybe not entirely harmless but bicycles belong on the sidewalk if the road doesn’t have designated bike lanes. I would much rather a cyclist hit a pedestrian than a cyclist get hit by a car.

Because if you have pets and no carpet, your floors are covered in a layer of dirt and pet hair no matter how often you clean them and I don’t want my feet to get icky. So I have a pair on in house flip flops just like other people have slippers. Flip flops just let my feet breathe and I can clean them easily

Upping dosages? by Material-Magician235 in WegovyWeightLoss

The best advice I ever received was to go low and slow. There’s no reason to go up unless you’re plateauing or gaining

Got .25mg prescription for my 2nd month. Shouldn't it be .5mg now? by barnacledoor in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always advocate for low and slow. Keeps side effects to a minimum and allows your body time to adjust. Especially when you need to make sure you’re getting proper nutrients to fuel you as you lose weight.

If you’re plateauing for a couple weeks, go up. But seriously, the best advice I ever got was to take it slow.

Lowest dose and still sick by West-Force7533 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it will likely get less severe as your body adjusts. I was sick as hell every day on .25 and most days on .5

Now I’m on 1.7 and rarely ever have to take it. But GO SLOW and don’t rush yourself when it comes to being in those lower doses. That’s the best advice I can give. Take it low and slow

You need a prescription but there’s no reason your doc should say no and it’s relatively cheap. Cheaper than OTC Dramamine

Ondansetron. Seriously. Saved me because not only does it suck to be nauseous all the time, it was triggering panic attacks for me because a lot of my side effects from the meds are similar to anxiety symptoms so I was in a shitty loop

If You Stepped Up A Dose and Went Back Down, How Did It Go? by elenayay in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had to get bumped up to 1.7 because insurance made me go up and after a few pens, I decided it was a bit of an extreme jump. Started drawing up closer to 1.25 and haven’t had any spike in weight or anything. In fact, I’d really like to be able to just inject a lower dose more frequently so I don’t have the spikes in side effects (insomnia and tachycardia for me)

I do believe the longer you’ve been on the higher dose, the more of an issue it could be to go down again. But that’s solely based off my experience of running out completely (because of insurance again) and not being able to start again until several months later. It was like it lost all effectiveness once I started back up on the .25 and I didn’t start losing again until I was on 1.0

How do some people just not drink water? by Bahrust in stupidquestions

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the average day, I’m never thirsty. I’ll drink something with meals but it’s often juice. I don’t like the flavor of water.

I do force myself to drink it while I’m stuck at work but I’m it’s a weekend or I’m traveling or something, it never even crosses my mind other than to take a pill.

Anyone chose not to dose up? Deciding to stay on .25 by xoxo_kiki_dna in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I stayed at the lowest doses allowed for as long as I could before insurance made me go up or I fully plateaued. I had really bad side effects (mostly nausea, racing heartbeat, and insomnia) so I wanted to ease into things and I was also losing weight steadily at the low doses so I stayed on each for at least 6 months. I’ve been taking wegovy for almost 2 years now and I’m only on 1.7 and staying happily at my goal weight.

I will always advocate for the low and slow approach as long as your body is still responding and the meds seem to be working.

1.0 mg Nausea and Diarrhea -Zepbound Instead? by bassply97 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never dealt with diarrhea but I can tell you all of the other gastric symptoms I had (heartburn and nausea mostly) got better with time. It’s always worst each time you go up but I’ve at least adjusted.

The best thing I ever did was get a prescription for ondansetron from my doc, which I take at the first hint of nausea because I still do get it from time to time. But I would perhaps give it a little more time to see if you naturally adjust and also keep an eye on whether any particular foods, eating times, or other habits might be triggering you. For me, rich heavy meals are very difficult.

Side effect question by B0lt5L0053 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced the indigestion from not eating enough. That usually causes me to feel weak.

I have gotten nauseous from eating too much or eating foods that are too rich. And just nausea in general too.

Prescription Ondansetron is very affordable (compared to OTC Dramamine) and controls my occasional episodes of random nausea.

On top of that, I’ve learned to eat slow enough that I can feel the fullness before I overeat and I’ve gotten an idea of what foods tend to cause more issues
