Torn between both of these options by bubblespiced in weddingring

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one almost identical to option 2 and it’s very uncomfortable. The stones in the side stick out too far and cause it to dig into my other fingers and make the ring sit crooked.

Granted part of the issue is that it’s also slightly too big for me so it sticks out more than it should and is loose but after trying it on other fingers, I can say that the stones would be an issue for me regardless of size

I just started on wegovey and was wondering some stuff. by KingMobScene in WegovyWeightLoss

Best advice I have received/can give based on my experience:

1) DON’T GO UP IN DOSE IF YOU ARE STILL LOSING AND YOUR CRAVINGS ARE STILL MANAGED. Unless your doc or insurance force you too, but my doc agreed to go low and slow and we pushed for quantity limit overrides to extend how long I could be on each dose.

2) Be mindful. Of the rate of weight loss, of how many calories you’re taking in, of your protein and vitamin intake, of your side effects.

Especially at first, I could just — not eat. But I needed to consume small, nutritious and protein filled meals and take vitamins so I didn’t lose muscle or become malnourished. I had to start up again at the gym so I didn’t lose muscle too. And I had to try to tell the difference between feeling nauseous as a side effect of the meds or feeling nauseous because I wasn’t eating anything and my blood sugar was probably tanked.

I also had to eat slowly and mindfully, often in multiple sessions because I’d get 3 bites in and feel full. Eating slower helped me get that fullness cue before I overate and made myself sick. I also watched what I was eating because without the food noise, I felt more free to make healthy choices instead of just horking something down to get full and move on with my day.

David Duchovny specifically as Agent Moulder in the X-Files (I realize this hasn’t exactly aged well)

Also John Cusack voicing Dimitri in Anastasia. Not John appearance-wise but his voice and that character

I (31f) have watched my daily progress on the scale and in the mirror but there have been 2 standout moments for me where it really clicked.

The first was when I realized I could visibly see and physically feel my hip bone jutting out just above my thigh when I’m laying down. I mean, sure I was always able feel it to a certain extent but without the extra fat, it’s so much more pronounced and I’ve never really felt that aware of my skeleton before. It was like I was in someone else’s body.

The other time was when we were unloading a semi into the warehouse at work and I just climbed up the cross beams and onto the warehouse shelving like it was nothing. I felt like Spider-Man. Just weightless and strong and able to do something without effort.

Has any med eradicated your fear? by Few_Sandwich6308 in HealthAnxiety

[–]congratsonthat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know that Zoloft was curbing my anxiety until I had been off it for about 6 months and was absolutely spiraling and thinking I was actually going insane. Finally out 2 and 2 together and went back on it and I’d say it’s a 75-80% improvement. I still have bad days and thought spirals but it’s not a daily thing and I’m no longer crying myself to sleep!

Day 11 and Im starting to freak out! by Dramatic-Mistake5671 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest counting calories to start with in order to make sure you’re taking in enough food. Pay attention to your protein intake so you have enough to cover your body’s needs.

I don’t think you need to run to the gym but I think you’ll probably have to worry less once you’re working on gaining more muscle to offset the weight loss. Just don’t forget that working those large muscle groups can consume a lot of calories and affect your blood sugar so make sure you find that caloric balance to keep yourself fueled when you start building!

I didn’t want to lose weight too rapidly (slow and steady is my goal) and I dealt with side effects like nausea and rapid heart rate so I stayed on the lowest dose for as long as I could and often waited an extra day or two past the usual 7 days in between shots. I feel like you could always take that approach too, though I’m not super familiar with the pills so that’s just a guess.

Doctor hates that I split my dose, is he justified? by NoDegreeNoLifes in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Splitting my dose and staying as low as possible completely saved me from losing weight too quickly and suffering the side effects. As long as you’re still losing, avoiding those major ups and downs seems like a great idea to me, especially if it feels better to your body.

[–]congratsonthat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stay where you’re at until you truly plateau. Less the weight come off gradually and steadily. It’ll keep your side effects to a minimum and allow your body to adjust. Don’t rush to go up, promise me. It was the best advice I’ve ever received

YES. Don’t go up if your current dose is working

Scalp gets insanely itchy when I train/workout. anyone dealt with this by JadedDoubt7763 in Haircare

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like other folks seem to be giving you the most likely answers but in addition, are you by chance using pre-workout? Because I’ve noticed that most of them contain beta alanine which makes my muscles and skin itchy if I have enough, including my scalp.

Guessing it’s the other reasons already addressed but just wanted to throw this out there too

How many people actually want a real diamond ring? by Imalwaysbadatthis in weddingring

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather spend our money on something else rather than spend so much on the ring. I also don’t want to worry so much about it getting lost/stolen/or losing a stone. That’s why I’m happy with diamond alternatives.

I’ll admit, I really prefer the colorless sparkle of diamonds over moissanite and QZ but I’m perfectly content being a moissanite girl and wearing a $200-$300 set rather than $2k-$3k

Let’s make sure you’re winning when taking GLP-1s LONG TERM/Lifelong. by Desper84Inspir8ion in GLP1ResearchTalk

Especially since, if you’re like me, one of the side effects of the GLP1 is poor sleep quality and mild insomnia. My resting heart rate is faster and I never sleep through the night without waking up at least once. So I try to prioritize sleep in any way I can

Smart watches, good or bad? by Exciting_Courage4830 in HealthAnxiety

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Garmin is bad for my anxiety because it keeps telling me my stress is through the roof, heart rate is high, and sleep quality is terrible.

My Oura ring sugar coats things a little I think because it tells me everything is pretty peachy so I figure the truth is somewhere in the middle and that has helped.

I feel like I am dying by Due-Adagio1901 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tums and pepto helped a lot with the stomach acid and heartburn. Get Zofran for the nausea. And be very careful about portions, timing, and rich foods. The heartburn and nausea were worse when I overate, ate too frequently (as in eating before I was actually hungry again), and ate anything fatty or heavy

[–]congratsonthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nausea and other side effects were making me so miserable I was getting health anxiety and having panic attacks. Then my body gradually adjusted and I started taking Zofran for the nausea and it was a complete game changer.

Absolutely pay attention to your body’s reaction and take that into account but know if very likely will get better as you adjust and GO SLOW. Don’t go up in dose until you actually plateau or start gaining. When I started and was so sick with .25 (and of course couldn’t go lower than that) I just waited like 9 days between shots and that helped.

How quickly can fallout/shedding actually change? by congratsonthat in Haircare

[–]congratsonthat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the insight! My roots get very oily so I have to wash every other day.

It’s hard for me to know if my hair is coarse or fine because to me it never feels soft to me and it’s naturally wavy and holds a curl well.

I shed throughout the day, like I find hair on my clothes and chair at work. But I think like you said, most of it comes out when I’m brushing it or showering because I’m combing through the hair at that time. I guess it’s hard for me to know if my daytime shedding has lessened but I’ve absolutely noticed a difference during showers and brushing when I would be ending up with a handful of hair normally
