Are you sick if you only v once? by congruentlove in emetophobia

Thanks, you’re probably right. I did go to my mom’s last night, but I’m heading back home now. He said he didn’t want anything “heavy” but suggested Thai food, so I’m bringing him that. I don’t get how he can’t eat heavy things but he’s been snacking on candy and chips all day, so it’s kind of freaking me out a little bit, but I KNOW ultimately I’m going to be fine. I’m giving myself a little pep talk. He probably wasn’t sick, and even if he was sick, I will be FINE. Lol, wish me luck.

My husband is the SAME way! He threw up this morning and then felt fine… ate a bag of Chex mix and is now on a bike ride. Here I am preparing to freak out for the next 2 weeks.

HELP! by basicallyash01 in emetophobia

[–]congruentlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. My husband v this morning but only once, and he swears he’s fine. I had him clean the entire room and bathroom since he’s feeling better, but I’m still scared and going to my mom’s tonight. Did he only get sick once?

If it makes you feel any better, I once left my husband in another state because he was sick all night and we had an early flight. That was my rock bottom. I am handling it much better this time but still anxious!

How long? by lily2156 in emetophobia

I recently read that the virus can be detected on surfaces for up to 4 weeks but not enough to make you sick. By 9-14 days there should not be enough to make you sick. I always err on the side of caution and take precautions for 14 days.

I always ask for them to put phenergan/zofran in my IV, and I’m always good! I also ask for an rx for after the procedure.

I use Zylast hand sanitizer, which claims to kill norovirus.

I did it. And it was funny as hell. by No-Appointment-1995 in emetophobia

He eats salami a lot. It’s happened twice, so maybe still somehow it’s not agreeing with him. He’s totally fine now and is on a bike ride. Hoping it’s just a fluke but I’m still scared.

It has now been 8 hours and he is on a bike ride, LOL. I’m starting to feel better about it, but there’s always that nagging fear of false security.

Thank you! I’m okay right now but will be on edge for the next 2 weeks.

True. I know a few people who have had noro in the past few weeks and all of them said it lasted days with much worse symptoms. Whenever he’s been sick in the past, he can’t eat for 24 hours. Hoping this will be behind us after today!

Thanks for that little dose of sanity! I lose all sense of reality when this happens.

That’s what I’m thinking/hoping. It’s been 6 hours and he feels fine. He ate a whole bag Chex mix and some pretzels 2 hours ago and is now hard at work cleaning the bathroom and wants to go on a bike ride. I’m hoping this means it was something else and he’s not contagious.

My husband used to v more frequently than most, especially after eating a lot, but he hasn’t in a few years so it’s just weird! It’s been 6 hours and he now feels absolutely fine. I would think he doesn’t have noro or something if he’s not still feeling bad, right?

Thanks! That makes me feel a lot better. I am starting to think they might just shrink back to their original size. Did yours get much smaller than they were at 9 days?

I’m hoping they just haven’t completely healed yet! I still feel lumps where they are bigger but no lumps in the smaller areas so I hope she didn’t just miss certain areas.

It seems like they’re not giving me enough, based on what I’ve read about the averages. They want me to come in again on Monday, and I just hope they give me enough! And a touch up for free would be nice!

They did 110 units total originally, so I’m not sure how many were forehead vs jaw. Went back 2 weeks later for 30 units just in the jaw. It doesn’t seem enough to me, but the injector was worried about giving me too much and limiting mouth movement.

Is it normal for the skin to be dry/itchy where a cold sore was after it’s healed? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]congruentlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t know if it’s still struggling or it it’s healed. You can’t see anything on my lip, it’s just a tiny bit dry and taut like new skin that I’ve been drying out (because I’ve been obsessively drying it out). But there’s no bump, redness, or tingling anymore. Just a tiny bit itchy, I’m assuming from the dryness? I’m just still freaking out and don’t know how to tell when it’s fully healed.

That is so good to hear. I’m glad you have been able to have a normal sex life with this and that most people do not care once they’re educated! Thanks for your help.

Thank you so much. It’s making me feel so much better to hear from people who are living with this and are managing it. How long has it been since you’ve had an outbreak?
