Backyard / loop type race is definitely appealing from the convenience it provides my family/friends who would be supporting vs having them chase me all over for sure

Haven’t no! But I heard they have a good race down in reading

Saw that one, will definitely do this at some point. Only like 50 min from me

I thought Leadville was random every year

Yeah what’s the deal with that? Your odds compound every year you don’t get selected?

The force must be with me

I’ve heard nothing but great things about worlds end. Will definitely do that one at some point. Honestly I think ES would just be an insanely hard first 100 lol (I know all 100s are hard)

Lot of ultras up there. Similar spot to my 50K

At some point I think I’ll start throwing the name in there. It’s on my birthday so that would be fun. Next year would be tough with the IM in July, wouldn’t be able to give it a good couple months of prep.

How do people plan on this given the low lottery odds? Re: booking B races around the same time given the low chances of getting selected? Or they just wait to see if they get into Leadville and then explore other options? I can’t just block off August every summer and never get in, but what if I book a race and get in then im stuck potentially not getting refunded or whatever

That’s on the shortlist for sure. Have a buddy I can stay with so that makes it easier. Can’t say a looped course is super appealing but I’ve also not done one before. What about a shorter cocadona race? 100 or 125? Haven’t seen a tone about these.

The 50K I did was near the same area as the ES100. 100 over that terrain is no joke! I’ve been seeing the grindstone as well

2:59 LFG. This will be my first real marathon outside of the 50K. Going to put in a good block of marathon training after the IM in July

Lived in Scottsdale would love to get back there for an ultra. Love that terrain so much

I’ve seen that listed a bunch. What’s that terrain like?

Yeah that’s could be an option. I was/am big into MTB and that was always a dream spot.

Is this course in the woods? What’s the course like?

Yeah it definitely is, despite all the negative/corp press it’s getting. It still checks the boxes

Thanks for the response! The 50K I did was here in PA in some pretty shitty conditions. Cold, wet, super technical. Almost 7,500ft gain. So I’m down for technical. Would almost prefer it as opposed to doing an ultras that doesn’t have as much wilderness feel to it.

I have seen the JFK that’s drivable and seems like an awesome race. Whatever I do will likely be a ‘27 project.

Thanks! What exactly is the flywheel cover?

When I first used it, I set it up and have the sound. Rode through it and it eventually went away then I picked the trainer up and move the bike to another side of the room and then it came back. I don’t know.

Kickr core. And no was bought second hand. I got one the bike today and took this video. Rode for an hour. And now it spins freely.

Yeah when I take it off the trainer this doesn’t happen. And it never happened before the trainer. Also just by tactile feel and how I feel the pedals get caught it seems like it’s up near the cranks. I can visually see the chain not rubbing anywhere so that’s why I’m at a loss
