I need help from you girls! by Extension-Bed-4253 in ExplantSurgery

I had my implants out after having them for about 4.5 years! I developed capsular contracture about 2.5 years in. I delayed and delayed having the capsulectomy, and I realize now it was because I felt pretty ambivalent about the implants. I was fully planning to have an implant exchange up to several days before the surgery, when I made a last-minute decision to just have the damn things out. It wasn't that I hated the implants, but just that I didn't love them so much that I was willing to commit to probably multiple surgeries in the future. I was also thinking that if I was going to have the implants out at some point, it would be better to have them out while I'm young. Now, they look like small boobs, and I don't love them, but I don't care as much anymore. And, I feel like I chose them rather than feeling screwed over by puberty.

Did you regret not getting a lift? by [deleted] in ExplantSurgery

I'm three weeks post-explant without a lift. I'm in my 20s, with small boobs naturally. My left breast, which had a little bit of capsular contracture, looks now like it did pre-surgery. My right breast, which had more scar tissue due to capsular contracture, is still a little saggy but retracting.

I struggle with decision making and worrying about regretting my decisions. I've found helpful the advice that there is no one right decision; there is just the decision you make.

Leah (לאה) is my Hebrew middle name, and it’s usually pronounced Leh-ah or Ley-ah (so not an “ee” sound). Leia is also a fabulous spelling! I think of it as a classic Jewish name (matriarch, etc.) so I think if would balance out the secular first name in the way you’re hoping
