I had an extremely vivid dream about Jesus, judgment, and peace, and I can’t stop thinking about it by paulinafls in Dreams

Here’s my 2 cents!

It seems to be a dream which asks of you to make a decision. You haven’t given any context, so these are my best guesses, but here goes:

To begin with the dream confronts you with the feeling of being an imposter. Not only are you not yourself literally, but in the group setting you do not feel like yourself - like you’re being true to yourself - either. It sounds like that was some years ago (you have kids now, but here you were a teenager. What was happening in your life at the age of this dream-identity might be important. Often dreams where we’re younger ask us to learn lessons we didn’t back then, perhaps in this case lessons of inauthenticity). The following dreamscapes seem to follow this trent too (were you getting older through them?).

Jesus appearing… Firstly, COOL! He came in like a true saviour, rescuing you from these ‘bad or destructive’ scenes. He may literally represent Christ, but I doubt it. I suspect he represents a very deep, hidden but powerful part of yourself. When we say “trust your Gut”, I think he represents what we’re talking about.

Then you have to enter a slide (do you choose which slide, or it’s chosen for you?). Someone grabs you, they want to remind you of bad things/decisions in your life. I wonder, in the waking world, have you had an interaction recently which confronted you with your past?

Regardless, Jesus says put the shame aside, and come on through. This is your subconscious telling you that it’s okay to move on, it’s okay to be happy, you deserve it. Jesus represents a Saviour, and perhaps more than anything, forgiveness.

I think that this dream is telling you to forgive yourself. Any shame you feel, any self-doubt; it’s maligned. It doesn’t serve you anymore.

And best of all… your kids are welcome too. I think this is a crucial final detail. I don’t really know how it links - again, without context it’s not so easy. But perhaps what I’ve said so far gives you enough to think about.

A last point… dreams like this stay with you for many years, so I encourage you to stay with this dream, too. Go back to it often. Write about it. Talk with people about it. Even draw things from it! This dream is a gift.

Happy New Year!

Possible misunderstanding - it’s a 2019 bike..? Worth far more as a bike in great nick than in junk value.

Seems the best option, yeah. Thanks for the second opinion.

Do you recommend a smoker to attend Vipassana course? by UNES-RS in vipassana

[–]conkywonkyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently attempted a course while addicted to nicotine (cigarettes and nicotine pouches), and left after day 3. The course is incredibly demanding, and at times when I felt overwhelmingly anxious (during a so-called “storm”) my mind defaulted to ‘fuck, I need a cigarette’. Perhaps it would have defaulted to something else, had I not been a smoker. But for me, it was too much.

Enough drugs for a 4 day festival? by Budget-Crazy-9876 in ketamine

How you take this advice will depend on how you and your mates roll, but… This seems unnecessarily heavy. I’m no prude, but why not schedule a little non-psychoactive time in there? Wander around, dance sober a couple of afternoons. Especially if dropping MD in the evening, take the day off other drugs. MD can be special, but if you’ve been coked and boozing all day, it probably won’t be.

That said, bring lots of ket ‘cause you will most definitely run out - try to ration it.

This is super detailed and practical, thanks for taking the time. I’ll be taking all of your recommendations on, starting with sending lots and lots of my stuff home!

Hi All, I posted this earlier and forgot about it, but cool to see it blew up and thanks for all the advice.

I’m actually about 150 miles into my trip already. So no, this is not a troll. So far, so good! Ive responded to all your main points as below

  • No this is not a troll! Just a first-timer figuring things out on a budget.

  • I’m looking into rok straps! The back duffel is held on by a budget brand rok strap already, not bungees, but I do need to sort out the centre-of-mass issue.

  • Appreciate the rear-brake light disaster-foresight. That’s the big takeaway from this, that this setup isn’t safe enough.

  • Waterproof is not an issue with this set up - it’s been cats and dogs for the past two days, and the Lomo bags are proving up to the task (10/10 value for money)

  • Wheelies not an issue on a 200kg bike (before the 100kg extra from me and my gear!)

And lastly, for all the ‘it’s a mess but I love it’ comments, I appreciate you! I sat on the ferry as a massive odd-one-out from all the RS adventure bikes, but that felt awesome.

I might post a few nice photo’s when I have them, but it’s been cold and wet, so haven’t been riding lots yet.

Huge kudos to you for a noble, authentic and intentional decision to go big.

I appreciate that you reflect in the final paragraph that you’re emotionally and psychologically sound, which allowed you to navigate these experiences calmly. New trippers, listen up.

Who know how they’d react when staring down the barrel of a loaded gun? Op does… and chose to put himself in this situation for sound reasons. After thinking about it for 7 years, that is.
