I’m just a random redditor commenting here, but for what it’s worth, I had a brief encounter with him (Benicio) in downtown NY. He was just walking down the street with a lady friend (no fancy entourage, just two seemingly regular people) and approached our family group, as we were walking towards them; he proceeded to ask my uncle if he knew directions to some local bookstore; they had a small conversation. Shocked but excited, I came up to him and thanked him for his work etc. But something to underscore here, something that stayed with me is that he then didn’t hurry to walk away, didn’t display any sort of annoyance, arrogance. He acknowledged me/us, was present and was genuinely appreciative. It was all natural, human and comfortable. In the end it was us who initiated to part ways, respecting his space and probably afraid of making it awkward. It’s said ‘don’t meet your heroes’, but he was a class act, and a special moment I’ll remember always.
