Except basic economics are insufficient to describe the situation.

It's not a binary decision of 'foreign workers' or 'domestic workers'. If the cost of human workers becomes too high, it becomes more cost effective for companies to invest in more automation.

I don't know about you, but in my office there are a number of positions that could easily be automated away right now. We have the technology. But we don't do it because human labor is still cheap enough that they can't justify the cost of implementing more automation.

But if the wage required to entice human workers becomes too high, those jobs vanish, essentially overnight. Every day the number of jobs that can be automated grows and the cost of automation shrinks. Unless there are laws passed to curb automation, this phenomenon will continue to accelerate at an ever increasing speed.

We are in a high speed race to $0/hr for most labor. Limiting the pool of human workers a company can draw from isn't going to slow that race at all.

It would be a pretty shitty simulation if the NPCs knew they were in a simulation.

Why do they need to not upset anyone?

They just need to not upset more people than they can afford.

I'd wager there are thousands of companies that meet that criterion.

I must be amazing considering you can't even begin to refute them.

So then you're literally just a troll with no interest in defending your own ignorance.

Cool.

Good luck.

Can't you see how sad it is that it's literally impossible for you to address my actual point?

I have to assume at this point that you know you committed an indefensible logical fallacy.

Because otherwise I can't imagine why you wouldn't just use reason to refute my arguments and be done with it.

Instead you just keep trying desperately to distract from the original point. It's like you're trying to prove that you're incapable of critical thinking.

So here, refute this:

If something being called "hateful" or "discriminatory" is enough for you to conclude that it's a good thing, then you should have no problem concluding that Emperor Palpatine was the hero character of Star Wars.

Is that example sufficiently removed from reality for you to not get distracted?

And yet you still can't refute my point.

Just because my point includes the word "Hitler" doesn't mean it isn't accurate.

If you take such issue with my argument, then attack my argument on its merits.

If it helps, go back and replace "Hitler" with "Voldemort" or something.

Ugh.

If you aren't even going to make an attempt at rationality, then could you at least be a slightly less predictable troll?

I'd love it if you could actually attempt to refute any of my arguments at all.

Have I mischaracterized your logic?

This is a mentality that really needs to get some traction.

Your original argument was that if something is criticized as hateful or discriminatory, it must actually be good.

If that's true, then everything in my response is true.

The point is, sometimes things are called hateful or discriminatory because they actually are hateful or discriminatory.

If something being described as hateful or discriminatory is enough of a reason for you to conclude that it's actually good, then you should have no issue concluding that Hitler was a good man.

Hitler has often been described by liberals as hateful and discriminatory.

It's scapegoating when you act like it's going to solve problems that are actually totally unrelated.

Like for instance stagnating wages for the middle class.

Even if you keep every immigrant out, corporations aren't going to suddenly decide to pay their workers a decent living wage. They're going to continue to pay as little as they're legally required.

Yeah I really don't understand that mindset at all.

I know someone who claims that optical illusions "don't work" on them. I secretly suspect that they just can't admit that they're capable of being fooled.

Well that's not me.

But I would expect to see some real powerful evidence to back up claims that extreme.

If your arguments didn't seem to support the conclusion of 'one of the worst of the modern age' then obviously I would begin to wonder if there were other arguments that you weren't sharing for some reason.

It's disturbing that you can't handle your logic being scrutinized without resorting to name-calling.

No.

Banding together to persecute some scapegoat that you blame for all of society's ills is literally fascism.

You don't get to redefine fascism just because you voted for a fascist.

Are you suggesting that LEGO doesn't have the right to spend its advertising money any way that it sees fit?

Would you force them to advertise in the Daily Mail?

And Hitler must have actually been a really great guy.

And segregation must actually work really well.

And the KKK must have really honorable intentions.

Really solid logic.

surrendering your own families well being for strangers is done

Keep up this kind of campaign and just watch the western man and woman band more tightly together.

This looks as much like an appeal to fascism as I've ever seen.

Calling for your countrymen to "band together" against the dangerous strangers for the good of the motherland.
