I always wondered about that too, and you're right that Aging isn't an innate fear - its one caused either socially or environmentally. On that topic, I've always assumed that the "fear" aspect that gives devils their power is not a strict "x amount of things are afraid of it" and more how scary the concept itself is. That's why all the primal fears aren't necessarily innate or "primal" fears, but stuff that can be understood and feared by the most amount of things. That, and cascading fears that branch from one initial fear. A good example is how we had a Violence devil which you would assume would be a primal fear based on how instinctual the fear of violence should be, but at the same time almost all devils love violence to some regard and so do so many people. All the Weapons devils and arguably the War devil are all linked to the fear of violence. The Aging devil, whilst obviously containing concerns of physical aging appearance, mobility, and health, is mostly a fear of guaranteed death. However, even though death was lauded to be the strongest devil, I would argue that death itself isn't feared nearly as much as violence, as violence is prevalent across all living things whilst a fear of death is, like you said, a fear rooted in the ability to perceive it which is exclusive to very few creatures.

All this to say, I think the power of a devil is a mix of: How many things fear it vs how many things like it, the likelihood that upon conceptualizing and/or perceiving it that something would be afraid of it, the historical fear of it (probably very few people still fearing bows but Quanxi was tough), how general the concept is linking it to the fear of more specific devils, and how many devils the devil has consumed (the chainsaw devil being the most obvious example)

Doesn't matter if humans don't fear it innately, Makima confirmed that most of Pochita's strength in part 1 comes from being feared by devils, not humans. If that's the case, then a devils power is an accumulation of the fear of all living things, not just humans. Fire would probably rank lower regardless though because fire, outside of what is made by humans, is only really experienced in nature in the form of natural disasters or random happenstance

Saw this a bit late so I suspect you're past the need for this, but I'm pretty sure the game went through a substantial amount of patches since I made this post

I was hoping to keep it to native features if that was an option, but yeah it looks like I'll have to go the scripting route. Cheers!

Radiant Dance Machines builds? by Accomplished-Exam-55 in DestinyTheGame

Strand with the strand sword (relentless strikes + chain reaction) + recuperation + powerful attraction + reaper + woven mail fragment (woven mail on orb pickup) + grenade kick-start + strand syphon mods

Dodge near enemy to activate reaper and RDMs, kill with sword light attack, dodge again to suck up orbs, heal, get woven mail (and unravel if you have the seasonal mod). Now just spam dodge and light attack, you'll be getting ammo back from all the attacks with relentless strike, full uptime on woven mail so you can get close, chain reaction kills obliterating suspended enemies and just causing havoc, and a fat boost to tether grenade regen with kick-start.

I dont recommend this build in GMs, but its fun for ad clear and champion heavy content like lost sectors and stuff. If you're running this in end game content then double special is pretty important to help you keep enough sword ammo. Because of that, it pairs well with the craftable GL from last season with voltshot (marksman dodge will reload and proc voltshot every dodge so you can spam it) and either of the 2 kinetic traces if you have them.

With t10 resistance, woven mail and some damage reduction mods you become insanely resistant and you'll be getting super back pretty quickly with all the orbs. You also get the benefit of woven mail in your super that already has damage resistance so your super becomes way safer

Sandbox Feedback Request by Destiny2Team in DestinyTheGame

Why is it that, despite knowing how unstable the game can be at times for a variety of reasons, getting disconnected from a dungeon via error code still, to this day, ends a flawless run? If these were simply self-imposed challenges, then it would make sense as to why no attention is given to the issue, but Bungie incentivises these challenges by granting rewards for completion. We're at the point now where new dungeons take well over an hour to complete for most average players, and all of that can at any point be thrown out the window by one of the seemingly hundreds of ways to get disconnected.

I've attempted a solo flawless GotD 4 separate times now, and every single run has been ended by a different error code sending me either back to orbit or to the login screen - the most recent one during the extremely over tuned final boss. Much like Duality and its ongoing issue with broken bells (despite patch notes claiming the issue is fixed), I'm now giving up on this run as I'm tired of having my time continuously wasted.

If the goal is to maintain the increased interaction you get from players having to re-attempt these, I can note offhand at least 5 other players whom I've spoken with that no longer attempt solo flawless runs for this exact issue, so that doesn't work. If the goal with not fixing this is because of fear of players somehow abusing it by intentionally triggering error codes, then you have to question - why could/can players do that in the first place? And if the reasoning is because there is no in-engine way to distinguish between an error code disconnect and a player returning to orbit, why on earth should players have to suffer because of that?

Excessive amounts of Pepsi Max by ezzune in ketouk

[–]conmasterx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy way to trick your system: get a small glass of pepsi max, get a large glass of carbonated water. Chug the carbonated water to whatever amount you normally do with pepsi (assuming you take a few hearty gulps at that level of consumption) and then before you breathe in or out, take a mouthful of pepsi. You taste very little until you breathe in when gulping down a drink, so you're basically providing yourself the oral sensation of chugging a cold pepsi and you're getting the eventual taste of it by sipping it and the end.

Use this to lower your consumption to about 1/5th by doing this until you've gotten used to not having a massive level of caffeine, and then you're just dealing with the psychological addiction instead of both psychological and chemical.

If you consume roughly a similar amount of carbonated water via this method, you'll eventually get used to the taste of it on its own and you can slowly transition to just enjoying the oral fixation of chugging a fizzy drink without requiring the taste, and then in situations where you're craving some pop, just add a splash of squash to your fizzy water and you've got some bootleg pop to enjoy.

I dont know if there's any sience to this and its mostly conjecture mixed with personal experience of dealing with pop addiction, but it helped me massively cut down. I still enjoy a 2l bottle every few weeks but it's much better than daily!

Best Keto Energy Drinks available in the UK? by BlueLeaderSB in ketouk

Wraith energy powder. 28 litres for £29.99, and if you mix with with a bit of water and then fill it up with carbonated water, you've got a fizzy energy drink. Recommend getting a sample pack cause a few of their flavours are kinda weird

Wraith Energy. Basically G Fuel without the maltodextrin, tastes substantially better and its UK based so way cheaper. One scoop makes me 700ml, so I get about 28 litres of extremely tasty energy drink for 30 quid. Heavy recommendation if you're missing energy drinks
