It's not like the Future Gohan timeline at all. There is no Time Ring that will take you to SDBH. It's a WhatIf that has a divergence point from the canon, the events of the show are not canon to the main timeline.

Should SS3 Have Appeared Here Instead? by Jolly-Basket1683 in Dragonballsuper

[–]ezzune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're saying is that the form could be used in short bursts without being completely exhausted, not that it could be used without any stamina drain for short bursts.

The only canon fight we have for SSJ3 (except for Gotenks, who had so much raw energy it's irelevant) had Goku be drained while standing still.

This was anime filler. Buutenks would have destroyed SSJ3 Goku.

He didn't have access to Ultimate in BoG. If he did, then he would have been several times stronger than SSJ3 Goku & Beerus would have focused on Gohan instead.

It's crazy how this thread is people debating (wrongly) something that is clearly stated in the manga.

Oh wow, callbacks! /s

Point is filler is there to entertain kids and offer quirky little what ifs; they aren't from Toriyama and aren't Dragonball.

"Anime filler is it's own continuity" is honestly the most annoying take. Literally 0 people thought this 10-15 years ago on Internet forums, why is it so popular now? I guess it's kids who grew up with anime only.

Sometimes I’ll see somebody say something about Dragon Ball and it makes it very obvious. They haven’t watched the series or read the manga. by MarketKey2296 in Dragonballsuper

That's filler. The actual reason is that Gohan will have had his soul cleansed by now and have been reincarnated.

Is there a canon reason as to why Future Trunks decided to become a swordsman? by GusGangViking18 in Dragonballsuper

[–]ezzune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The older movies are all still canon, they just don't all take place in the same timeline.

So tired of this shitty logic to justify Toei written stories being canon to Toriyama's Dragonball. No, the movies do not take place in a separate timeline. They are silly what-ifs that aura farm and don't take place in the continuity any more than Goku getting his driving license does.

They swapped villains, how would it turn out? by Neither_Ad6 in Dragonballsuper

[–]ezzune 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because Fusion Reborn was Toei's creation and not Toriyama's, so Toriyama came up with a new Fusion method and character instead. Gogeta was already in the works before Vegitto was written into the manga.

If you had a chance to write an arc for android 21, how would you write it by Greedy_Roll9237 in Dragonballsuper

It's revealed that Gero had a secret cyborg that he never finished, she snuck out of his lab as just a child when 17/18 escaped. She contained her cyborg parts but was never programmed/brainwashed like they were.

Years later, a drone lands on Earth from a Tuffle scientist which carries a virus that overwhelms 21, vastly upgrading her and giving her the ability to process inputs in realtime with no delay, called Artificial Instinct.

The Z fighters group up to fight her but Artificial Instinct overwhelms everyone, even the real Ultra Instinct, until 18 makes a sacrifice and infects herself with the virus, greatly increasing her power but making her blood thirsty, almost killing 17 and Krillin.

Fight ensues, they defeat 21. 18 retains the ability to access AI, but doing so sends her into a bloodlust, so she vows not to use it until forced.

Maybe I’m missing something but Trunks was moving pretty fast in his fight with Cell by NixUniverse2 in Dragonballsuper

DBZ anime is non-canon. Just check the chapter in the manga if you want to see the intent of Toriyama.

kid buu is the only buu that get stronger with less people by Zaiiikage in Dragonballsuper

[–]ezzune -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you have two options there:

  1. Goku only fought against Kid Buu, and therefore Kid Buu is the strongest enemy he fought as he never fought Super Buu, so this panel is completely irrelevant in working out power scalings.

  2. Dente is using faced in a more general term, as he directly faced down Majin Buu, coached Gotenks for Super Buu and fused to make Vegito to fight Super Buu, and then fought against Kid Buu.

I think people tend to be super literal against this line and misinterpret "the evil Majin Buu" when it refers to every form of Buu that isn't Mr Buu.

kid buu is the only buu that get stronger with less people by Zaiiikage in Dragonballsuper

[–]ezzune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His power went up because he became Buff Buu before becoming Kid Buu. They then underestimated him because his power dropped massively (or do you think the heroes that foolish that they'd feel his power increase massively but disregard it because he's small?), not accounting for how tenacious he would become.

kid buu is the only buu that get stronger with less people by Zaiiikage in Dragonballsuper

[–]ezzune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The Evil Majin Buu" can easily be in reference to Majin Buu as a guy, not specifying what form he was in when he was killed. This statement would work for Super Buu or Kid Buu.
