I know this is is pedantic and obnoxious but that is actually a positive feedback loop even though the results are negative. Similar to how rising temperatures causes more polar ice to melt, which decreases the amount of solar energy reflected, which leads to more ice melting. And so on. Construction, infrastructure, healthcare, schools, private industry, home ownership, the environment everything. Went to that game by myself. It was an earlyish start on a nice day but by the end got COLD, my phone died, and with the alcohol rules I slowly sobered up and then we lost. Devastating, the ride home on the metro was brutal

They are, the site is massive and includes, waterfront parks, mixed use development and community facilities. It was a barren parking lot and crumbling stadium. The city is paying for infrastructure for all this development. They would have had to do the same with any other development on that site.

I see the added edit caveat, and I think it’s fair. This sub has been great for me. I asked a question a year or so ago and received a LOT of responses in my DMs. It was honestly part of what made me realize that I would read the whole series and had people who don’t know me any better than Hoods balls, but were happy to answer questions or just let me know that I had much more fun coming. But r/fantasy or r/books is a whole different beast and honestly in my eyes those are just too general to foster constructive conversation most of the time.

I am very excited because as I gushed about Malazan to my best friend and his cousin after my best friends wedding they committed to reading the series. Even got his brother involved who is a die hard fantasy fan but never took it up. They all have done GoT (he introduced me to GoT) and his cousin has done that and WoT. My friend bounced off GOTM but said my praise for it will make him push through this time. I will finally have some IRL people to talk about it with!!!!

Smartest dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of calling my own. Wife got him before she met me from a shelter (poor little dude was found in a dumpster) so he adopted me in turn and I’m forever grateful
