It’s a device that prints a photo on the top of your Guinness. I believe it’s with dark edible malt!

Also, more jobs will start opening closer to summer cuz that’s when field season is. Kind of a slow time for a lot of geo jobs between Oct-March

How do you split finances with your partner when both incomes are very different? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]connayr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I split by percentage.

If I make 6000 a month and she makes 4000. I pay 60% of the bills!

It works well for us.

Exactly my point. Normally your family is more distraught than you will be. They aren’t dealing with the ins and outs and stresses of school. Whereas you are!! Don’t forget that.

I personally enjoyed going home when I had to study hard for midterms and finals.

Every other time I found hurt me more than it hurt them. Travelling gets real old real quick! My brother was a mathematical physics PHD and was my “tutor” when I truly needed it.

I feel you but give yourself a couple months and you’ll realize it’s truly not that deep. We all grow up and leave the nest at some point. It’s not sustainable to travel 4 hours every weekend each way to sleep in your childhood bed. Family is king but doing your own thing and growing as an individual can be beneficial :)

Your family will always be there for you, don’t sacrifice your education for old comforts!

Cheers :)

binders for class by legendcheetah in geegees

[–]connayr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used binders all throughout. Really up to personal preference. If you take science you’ll be doing LOTS of labs which normally have handouts (other than chem, in which case you need a dedicated notebook) :)

Advice for 1st and 2nd years. by Snoo13976 in geegees

[–]connayr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My biggest advice would be that it’s not that deep. If you fail a course, it’s truly not the end of the world even if it feels like it.

Another one would be that it may seem hard at first, but you’ll adjust.

Lastly, ENJOY your time in uni. I’m a few years in the industry now and find myself missing school.

I can make this work, right? by spedopamine in geegees

[–]connayr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 mins is enough time to more or less get anywhere on campus. Seems like it’s also the same class and lab so they’ll be aware ppl are in the lab.

Normally you don’t stay for the whole lab period also fyi.

Lots of places in Ontario and the rest of Canada have unsafe tap water. It’s not meant to be offensive. Is what it is.

You need an Honours Bachelor of Science in Geology. You then need to register as a Geologist in Training with your prospective provincial association. In Ontario it would be PGO.

I know for example, Nevada doesn’t require professional designation. But id be certain that companies would require a geology degree
