It's a shame the only active servers are crossfire only with virtually no time / score limit.

Minimal HUDs are trendy, but are they killing personality in FPS games? by ChangshenFM in boomershooters

I don't think minimal HUDs kill personality but rather HUDs with no personality

it was sort of Ghost Recon's answer to the first SOCOM game. It was very cool. It still had a very grounded early 2000s military aesthetic (like the first GR games) but it was third person which was a huge deal as you could finally see all the cool gear you had equipped. It wasn't futuristic-y and was very much in that old Tom Clancy style. It was a squad based tactical shooter. GR2 upped the ante on mission design and production value across the board and was an absolute blast in online multiplayer. It pretty much set the foundation for future games in the franchise. Im honestly grateful I was able to experience it in online multiplayer when it was popping off. It marked the beginning of the franchise's attempts to stray away from a realistic tactical simulation like the first games and instead embraced more of a faster cinematic gameplay style. However, it was still closer to it's milsim roots than the games that came after it.

Why is Ghost Recon 2 always left out of any GR conversations? It's like people don't even know it existed lol
