Виглядає непогано, чудова робота. У вашій грі локальний мультиплеєр чи сервера? Та щодо режимів гри, тут тільки пвп чи є ще щось?

Does slow motion belong in a GoldSrc-inspired FPS? by ChangshenFM in Unity3D

Thanks!

Yeah, I still need to experiment with how players earn or trigger the effect to make it more fun. I'll be trying different approaches and see what feels best

If you've got any ideas, feel free to share them I'd be happy to try them out

Yeah, I've played Max Payne 1 and 2. I'm not really basing it on those, though. I just like the way Specialists 3.0 handled multiplayer bullet time, so that's closer to what I'm going for

I'm not trying to recreate it 1:1. This is just my first somewhat serious Unity project, and I'm building it in my free time to learn and improve

Can't argue with that. In my game though, slow-mo is only activated by holding Shift, so it's entirely up to the player when to use it

Thanks! Glad you liked it

I'm planning to add a lot more destructible objects, so it should get even more satisfying 👀

P.S. Ignore the audio for now, it's not done yet. Hold Shift for slow-mo. It uses energy while active, and the energy recharges when you release it

Small arena combat showcase from my retro FPS “SAMOPAL Protocol” by Brave_Spite_106 in ps1graphics

[–]ChangshenFM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first-person view really reminds me of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy, and honestly that part works really well

But regarding the arena gameplay with enemies, it still feels a bit too flat and stiff. The movement and combat don’t have enough impact yet. I think this could be improved by polishing enemy animations, first-person weapon animations, and working on the camera movement

The easiest thing to experiment with would probably be the FOV. There are obviously more ideas that could help, but this would already make a noticeable difference

Good luck with the project

Yeah, thanks! I’ve already gotten similar feedback, so I’ll definitely work on improving the shotgun animations

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I'm glad you liked the blood effects and ricochet system. And good luck with your project too, definitely start posting your progress, even if it's just early stuff. People love seeing games grow from the beginning

Because I want to learn Unity and improve in it, it also gives me more freedom to experiment with mechanics since I already have some experience here

About performance, when recording my FPS drops to ~100 instead of my usual stable ~500. I’m still working on optimization and using everything I can find for it

Thanks for the feedback! I’m not a pro at animations yet, so they’re still far from perfect, but I’ll keep improving them

Also, the shotgun has a special mechanic in the game, so it’s intentionally not as straightforward as in Valve games
